Extraterrestrial Civilizations - Class 2 [1/17, Period 4]

"Good afternoon," Ellie greeted the class. "Today our guest speaker will be the Royal Princess Ardala of the Draconian Empire. She'll give a brief talk and then answer any questions you might have for her about her world. Please give her your attention and respect."

An attractive woman with curly brown hair adorned with a jeweled headpiece strode into the room, followed by a hulking tattooed bald man. "Come along, Tigerman," she said haughtily as she took her place at the head of the class. Tigerman glared at the students, his arms crossed over his bare muscular chest.

"We are the Royal Princess Ardala of the Draconian Empire," the woman said. She was wearing what could best be described as a silver bejeweled bikini top, purple gauzy cape, and a few scraps of fabric attached to a silver belt that made some semblance of a skirt. She had the body to pull it off, however. "Our father, King Draco, ordered us here to speak of our kingdom," she said. "King Draco is the greatest leader the universe has ever known, and his kingdom is the most powerful. But we are a peaceful people. Our father sends his star fortresses throughout the galaxy looking for planets that are in need of...protection. Pirates plague the intergalactic shipping lines, and in the name of our father, we make treaties with assaulted worlds. Trade agreements in exchange for protection. An offer will be made to Earth soon." She smiled tightly.

"We are prepared to address any specific questions about our home," Ardala went on. "What do you wish to know?"

"What happens when a planet you are protecting decides they no longer want your protection or they want to lessen their tribute?" Maia kept her gazed fixed to Ardala's eyes.

"That simply doesn't happen," Ardala said arrogantly. "And it was to happen, well, we would continue the arrangement for their own good."

Maia raised an eyebrow, "Interesting." Her eyes still fixated on Ardala. "So you oppress those you mean to 'protect'."

"We prefer to see it as convincing other worlds to come around to our point of view," Ardala said.

"Ah, so not unlike Stalin's Russia or Hitler's Germany." She nodded.

"We do not know what this Russia or Germany is," Ardala said, "but perhaps they are worthy of our study."

"Well, they don't exist anymore. Tyrannical governments can only last so long before their people fight against it or another force moves in. What would you do if one of your planets rose against you, in alliance with other planets?"

"That just simply won't happen," Ardala said with a sharp glance at the annoying girl who was full of annoying questions.

Maia didn't waver under the look, she continued looking at her. "Do they fear you, the people you rule over?"

"All shall love me and despair. We and our father are adored by our people," Ardala said.
