Last time we looked at the Villanovan period of Rome. Now, we're looking at some Grecian stuff. Let's look at some temples and talk about the religion associated with them. *turns off lights and puts up slides*

Homweork: Write me a small paragraph about the Parthenon's archaeological significance. What was it made for? What mythological scenes appear on the friezes and metopes? And don't forget to hand in any missing assignments.

Since there are only four of us now, I thought it would be kind of fun to spend the next few weeks looking at some key passages in Herodotus' Histories and look at the propaganda aspect of his work. Since we're not here to translate, I got the best translation I could find.

Homework: Read Book 1 by Monday. ((OOC: Don't worry about it. I'm not reading it in its entirety, so you don't either O_o)) And hand in any assignments that are missing.

Janet walks into the classroom shortly after Beka, then taps her on the shoulder. "Hey, I know I'm not in this class, but mind doing me a favor?"

*cringes and hopes this isn't one of those bad loaded questions* "Probably not."

"Oh, don't worry," says Janet. "I'm not asking you to do anything illegal or immoral. Well, not too immoral. Just take a picture of this for me?" She hands Beka her camera and walks up to Daniel.

"Excuse me, Daniel? I don't mean to interrupt, but--"

(OOC: Heee! I thought she was gonna deck Beka for flirting with Daniel in a totally "my teacher is so cool and I'm a geek way")

"I got no problems with illegal and immoral as long as no one gets hurt." *grins and grabs camera* "You bet. Can't wait for this."

((OOC: Wow, that'd be funny, but Janet'd so lose in a chick fight with Beka. So. Lose.))

((OOC: Nah. Beka would just feel guilty. She really doesn't have any sexual interest in Daniel. She just likes him and feels comfortable with him because he doesn't mock her and praises her for being smart and competent. But she'd hate to be in a fight with Janet since she's been working so hard to get Daniel to put out for Janet a little.))

Well, it's not like anyone else is really paying attention or anything *glares at class* so, what is it that you wanted?

Janet reaches up (and up...), then wraps her arms around Daniel's neck and proceeds to give him a very long, very slow, very deep kiss. When she lets him go, she has a cat-that-ate-the-cream grin and a sparkle in her eyes. "There, now," she says. "That wasn't so bad, was it?"

(OOC: *grins evilly* Hope you liked!)

(OOC: *loves* OMG! That was perfect. Hope my pictures turned out good! I'll go take them.)

Beka grins evilly and snaps half a dozen pictures of the deed. "Gotcha."

"Lovely," says Janet. She grins conspiratorially at Beka and takes her camera back. "I'll let you guys get back to class now. Thanks for the help, by the way."

((OOC: Daniel, seeing as how you're not here and I need to go and make another post now, I'm wrapping this up and having Janet walk out of here while you're still stunned.))

Beka winks at Janet. *thinks how cute she is and how much fun it will be after the big victory* "Always a pleasure."
