As promised on the radio, Nadia came into the cafeteria to say hi to the Chef.

And get some tacos, of course. If she doesn't get her tacos, she's going to explode. She does that sometimes.

Pippi who thankfully has not turned into a house and therefore has a mouth with which to eat tacos flounces into the cafeteria.

"Hi Nadia!"

"Hey, Pippi. What's up?"

"I heard ya on the radio last night, that was great!"

Nadia smiled. "Thanks. It was nice to think about something other than Cally for a little bit."

Pippi nodded and fiddled with her food for a moment.

"Yeah..."

"I'm trying to figure out who did it. It was the same guy who attacked Dr. Wilson."

"Really? How do you know? Is it, like a dream thing?"

Nadia nodded. "That's how I found Cally. I must have dreamed it just as it was happening."

"...Bel told me that Dr. Wilson was attacked in LA."

[nadiathesaint]

Nadia shrugged. "I can't explain it. But everything I saw points to it being the same person."

"So whoever it was is here now..."

Nadia nodded. "On the preserve, at least."

"I suppose the preserve is a good place to hide... If you're a stranger to the island..."

"Even if you're not. There's plenty of places to hide out there."

"Yeah..."

Pippi didn't want to contemplate the attacker not being a stranger.

"Do me a favor?"

"Depends on what it is."

"Don't go out alone."

[nadiathesaint]

"Hey, I'm the one who was telling people on the radio not to get attacked. I'm not trying to end up in the clinic again."

"Yes, as well you should but this guy apparently attacks people who are alone and so far you're the only person besides maybe Cally who can eventually finger him."

"He's only attacked people who can't fight. And I can fight."

"Can I express concern for the safety of my friend and what is possibly the only witness to two brutal assaults if not attempted murders without it being perceived as some kind of personal slight?"

"I didn't see that much," Nadia looked down. "But I'm being careful."

"Yet." Pippi pointed out.

[nadiathesaint]

"I don't know if the dreams are really going to be that helpful."

[strongestgirl.livejournal.com]

"Well, you don't know that they're not going to be helpful either." Pippi said.

"I can't control the wind or the currents either but it don't mean I can't put 'em to good use."

[nadiathesaint]

"I'm trying. Aziraphale and I were talking about ways to get them more clearly, and trying to put together what we do have from the dreams to catch this creep."

"Have you tried meditating on your dreams? Sometimes the witch doctors in Kurrakurradutt do that... You prolly already tried that huh?"

Nadia shook her head. "I, um, I don't know how to meditate. I was going to ask Blair to teach me."

"Blair's a good meditation teacher." Pippi nodded.

Though to be honest, she had not meditated with him since that first time almost a year ago... It hadn't gone well, but that wasn't Blair's fault.

"Aziraphale suggested it, too. If I can ever learn how, I'm willing to try it."

"It's not the learning that's hard, it's the doing. At least for me."

"What was so hard about it?"

"Sitting quietly and not doing anything." Pippi said.

In actuality, she did that quite often, but it wasn't something she did as a conscious decision.

". . . There has to be more to it than that."

"Wull of course there is, but first ya got to sit quietly and not do anything."

Nadia wondered if she should be taking notes. "And then what do you do?"

"What you do next depends on who's teaching you and what you're trying to acomplish." Pippi shrugged.

"Ah. Well, that's good to know, I guess."
