fandomhigh | Superheroing 101- Tuesday, January 16- 2nd period

When the students have arrived, Captain Liberty gives them all a big smile. Last week's cardigan has been completely done away with. It was annoying and didn't go with the outfit.

"Welcome back! Today's going to be a pretty easy day, but don't think it's less important," she tells them. "Last week you took on superhero names. This week you're going to try to protect them. This is kind of an improv exercise, something you end up having to do a lot of in superhero work. Pair up. One of you will be the superhero keeping a mild-mannered and very ordinary facade going, and the other will play a close friend or family member who's just found something typing you to your superhero. Maybe they noticed that you look a lot alike, or hey, you didn't show up to your best friend's party because you were saving a train full of people or something. Do whatever you have to to keep your superheroness a secret, short of punching anyone because then I have to give detention. Be as creative as you want, and try to pair up with people you don't know. If you need help with anything, I'll be around, as will my TA, Princess Powerful. Have fun with it, guys."

So I'll be around a little tonight, and Tuesday until about 8:30 am PST. Not sure how long I'm working, but will pick up any pings when I get back.]

"That's not my name," he said, acting wounded. "Just because the teacher thinks one word means another doesn't mean I'm a headache."

Molly giggled and thought she could easily come up with several people who would disagree with him.

"Okay, okay. I won't tease you anymore. We can start over."

"Thank you," he said. "I'm nice and normal."

Molly nodded. "But, where did you run off to the other night right before Mr. Fantastically Awesome and Sometimes Spectacular stopped that train full of orphans from crashing into that bus full of nuns? You always seem to disappear right before he shows up."

"I had to use the bathroom," John answered simply.

Molly gave him a weird look. "What about the time he stopped that giant flamingo from stomping downtown? You took off right before that happened too."

"Bathroom," he said mildly. "I've got a small bladder."

"You might want to see a doctor about that," Molly said.

"I get by," he said and smiled. "It's not a problem. See, I'm nice and normal."

"Sure you are," Molly said with a grin right before she narrowed her eyes slightly and pointed a finger at him. "I've got my eye on you though, Mr. I-Am-Not-Mr.-Fantastically-Awesome-and-Sometimes-Spectacular."

John made himself not waver under the finger. "I hope you like what you see then."

Molly snickered then got a serious look on her face again. "It is very suspicious that you two have never been in the same place at the same time."

"Just a quirk of nature," he said, shrugging. "No more, no less."

"How do you explain that you look so much alike?"

"Well, Cam Mitchell and I look alike," he said. "It happens."

"Curses. I'd forgotten you could use that defense," Molly muttered and then sighed. "I guess I'll have to believe that you really aren't Mr. Fantastically Awesome and Sometimes Spectacular. Too bad though. He's fantastically awesome and sometimes spectacular. I'd give anything to meet him." She blinked at John with sad eyes.

"Maybe someday you will," John said, blinking back at her. "Someday, we'll all need a visit from Mr. Fantastically Awesome and Sometimes Spectacular."

Molly grinned. "Okay, I give up. Good job on not giving away your secret."

"I try," he said. "Your turn?"

[Going to other job soonish and will be AFK for several hours woe!]

Molly nodded. "Yup! Give me your best shot."

[[Woe! We can pick it up later.]]

"So...are you a superhero?" Might as well attempt direct question trickery first.

"Me? A superhero?" Molly gave him a shocked look. "I'm just a little girl. I could never be a superhero."

Direct approach hadn't worked. "I saw you saving that little girl from the fire."

Might as well try the little white lie approach.

"It must have been a trick of the light," Molly said. "I'm afraid of fire."

"I have witnesses."
