Film and Lit, 1/11
Daisy hadn't done much to turn what had been the basic acting classroom into the film and lit classroom. There was still an oversized arm chair in the corner that served as her "desk", and there was still a fairly large, clear area in front of the semi circle of student desks. She had, however, had someone set up a projector and movie screen in the front.
"Right! Welcome to your first day of Film and Literature. I'm Daisy. Daisy Adair. Your teacher. I know, I know, I look too young to be a teacher, but it's true. I don't have any syllabus or anything for you, because I wanted to see what topics you would prefer to cover in this class. Anything that has both a print and film version (and, no, screenplays don't count) is fair game, so we're talking about movies made from books and short stories, books made from movies and TV shows, the anime/manga dichotomy, whatever catches your attention. Seeing as it's our first day, I thought we'd start out easy. Stand up, tell us your name, what you'd really like to study and discuss in class, and . . . oh, let's go for your favorite beverage. Go!"
When that had ended, Daisy stood back up from her arm chair. "Okay! Good job, people. You all have horrible taste. For the rest of class, I want you to pick a story, any story, and write a quick summary of how you would turn that story into a movie. For homework, pick one scene from that story and describe the movie scene in detail. Think costumes, camera angles, lighting, actors and actresses, the works. Have fun!"
[ooc: please meta things. Handwaviness is always acceptable.]
