Lana slipped in between classes to have some Mecurunee und Cheese-a and a little Seled.

Maia waved at her from the lunch line after she got her Mecurunee and Cheese-a and a Seled. She skipped on the Beked Beuns though.

Lana waved back. "Hey, Maia, it seems like forever since I've seen you!"

Maia nodded and walked over. "I know. How in the world have you been?" She said as she sat her tray down opposite of Lana.

"I'm doing really well," Lana said, and smiled, thinking of Jim. "Really, really well."

Maia grinned, "That is wonderful. Did you have a good Christmas?"

Lana nodded. "Jim and I went to Smallville for Christmas - stayed at Lex's mansion - and then we went and stayed with Angel in L.A. through New Year's. Got back just in time to find out about Dr. Wilson." Her face sobered. "That was really scary."

"I was on Babylon 5 with Susan, River and Blair; I didn't know anything about Dr. Wilson until I got back either. Yeah it was." She said in agreement.

"Oh! Did you all have fun? I bet you had a blast," Lana said. "What is it like up there.?"

"Oh God yes, we always have a blast up there. It was River and Blair's first time. It was wonderful. I am going back for Spring Break, G'Kar; he's a friend of mine up there. G'Kar is taking me a harvest ball thing when I go up there, some sort of religious thing. I'm so excited."

Maia said all this in a rush, "It's amazing up there, it's like Fandom High except more aliens and the eternal threat of war but you're safe and Susan's in charge of all of it. They've got a mall and a casino...it's really really awesome."

Lana grinned at her friend's enthusiasm. "Wow. Sounds just amazing. And here poor Jim was thinking he was so lucky getting to stay at a millionaire's mansion."

Maia blushed, "I think that's a wonderful vacation as well. I mean hell I bet it's awesome there as well. Did you have any trouble while you were there?"

Lana rolled her eyes. "There was a little male posturing and some very competitive Monopoly on Christmas, but otherwise it was all good. Of course, Jim and I had the mansion to ourselves from Friday evening till late Sunday night, so that was really nice." She blushed a little. "Jim particularly enjoyed the hot tub."

"Oh?" She said raising her eyebrow and smiling. "And did you enjoy the hot tub?"

"Oh, absolutely!" Lana said with a wicked grin. "I pretty much enjoy anywhere I am with Jim."

Maia beamed at Lana. "That is awesome."

"It is," Lana said with her own smile.

"And Maia..." she became much more serious. "He came back. He's the only one who's ever had to leave and then come back."

Maia smiled softly. "That's wonderful." She said, in an awed voice of happiness for Lana.

"I didn't think he would. I knew he wanted to, but, Maia, you know no one has ever come back." She bit her lip. "I almost don't believe it's real."

Maia nodded, "It is real." She smiled "I think that's wonderful."

Lana smiled at her. "Did you see him before?"

Maia took a bite of her Mecurunee und Cheese-a and chewed it very slowly before answering. "If I say yes would be upset that I looked at your future even though you didn't want to know?"

Lana shook her head. "You respect my wishes not to tell me, but I know you don't always have control over what you see and I know that you get worried and want to make sure people are okay. I won't be upset."

Maia smiled shyly, "I didn't know it was him...when I saw him. I mean his name and stuff, I didn't hear it. I just saw you happy, really happy you know." She grinned broader.

A slow smile spread over Lana's face. "I am," she said. "Really, really happy. And I think he is too."
