Upon entering the class room, the students will see Emma standing by her desk, welcoming them all. She is dressed mundanely in a white corset, pants, boots and blazer. Well, mundane for her. Most of the other teachers probably didn't wield a riding crop.

There are ~~six~~ seven tables in the room, with three white boxes on each. In a pile on the middle of the tables are buttons, beads, sharpies, glitter, glue and other decorations. Emma points each student to a table after they've signed the sign in sheet.

When everyone that's going to arrive have, Emma smacks her riding crop against her desk to get everyone's attention and begins talking.

"Welcome to Home Economics! My name is Emma Frost, and I will be your teacher." She sighed for a moment. "I suppose I should tell you that I am a telepath, which means that yes, I really can read your filthy little minds.

Today you have all been given boxes. Decorate them in a way that will make you recognize them, as they will be kept in this room and you will use them to store things in. You will be given a new useful item for each class, and at the end of the semester the boxes will be yours to do with as you please."

Alec sat down and, up until the point that Emma announced she was a telepath, was quite cheerful at getting to decorate a box.

Dean looked over at Alec concernedly. "You okay?" he asked quietly.

He nodded and gave Dean a faint smirk. "Just fine."

Dean wasn't sure he bought it, but figured here wasn't the place to push the issue. There'd be time later when there weren't mental eavesdroppers around. Trying instead to distract Alec, he asked, "You going to put a dinosaur on your box?"

"Maybe," Alec said, looking at the box speculatively. "Think seahorses are overdone yet?"

Dean grinned. "Nah. Seahorses never get old."

"Then I'll do a seahorse," Alec said, picking up glitter and glue.

"That will work," Dean said grinning at him.

"Oh, so Jaye was right. You do wear clothes to class," Pam noted.

"Shirtlessness isn't for always," Alec said, like it was something very deep. "Don't want anyone getting too used it, right?"

Pam glanced towards Emma. "Maybe you should share your philosophy with our teacher."

"Well, she's not naked," Alec said, just barely glancing at Emma.

"Close enough," Pam said, frowning.

Alec paused and took a very careful look at Emma, very nonchalant and sneaky so he didn't get caught looking. "I don't think she's actually very naked at all."

"No, but those aren't teacher clothes," Pam said. "She might as well be naked for how...um, form-fitting it all is."

Alec gathered glitter for his box, still not looking at Emma at all. "You should tell her they're not teacher clothes then," he said, amused.

"Hey man," John greeted. "Ready to bake like you've never baked before? Not today though."

"I will be, since I never have," Alec said dubiously. "You think that'll be a problem?"

"Dunno," John admitted. "I've managed to cook a few things but I've burned a lot of things too. Guess we'd just better hope she's a good teacher."

He snorted lightly ~~and wished Cedric was really here so he could get a hug!~~ as he painted his box with glitter. "Yeah, I guess. What else are you supposed to learn in Home Ec?"

"Sewing? How to watch chick flicks?"

"Is there an art to it?" Alec can't imagine what that would look like, except maybe it involves girls being in lingerie or sexy pajamas.

"How to watch chick flicks?" John asked. "I think it's up to the guy not to fall asleep."

"That's it? You're not allowed to enjoy them?"

"I think you can," John said after a brief pause. "Sometimes, they're just kinda boring."
