Edward took a deep breath. "Here's where things get fun," he said. "Armony is Selene."

Alphonse boggled at him for a second. "... she is?"

"Yeah." Edward poked at the remainder of his food, his appetite suddenly gone. "From what I could gather, Selene was helping Eiselstein with some experiment and it rebounded and almost killed her. The only way to save her involved putting a Catalyst into her... that's why Armony exists and Selene doesn't."

"I see," Alphonse said quietly, slumping over his folded arms on the table. "... That sort of makes sense. So if Eiselstein forbid her from using alchemy, I'm guessing it's because it effects the Catalyst."

"Exactly," Edward said with a grim nod. "If she uses alchemy it will activate the Catalyst and..." He found the tray so very, very interesting. "I'm not going to let her down again."

Alphonse glanced up at Edward with a small, surprised look. "She used it and something happened."

It was no question, because he knew with that statement, something did.

Edward didn't want to talk about this anymore. "That's why we can't have her using alchemy. She can study it until the cows come home but we can't let her use it." Edward was now stabbing the remnants of his lunch.

"Alright," he agreed. For once, Alphonse didn't feel the want or need to know what precisely happened; whatever it was, it was Bad News and he knew none of that needed to happen at Fandom. "I'll make sure she doesn't try. She's very persistent, though."

"We'll have to keep a sharp eye on her," Edward said thoughtfully, his appetite slightly back as he started picking at the non-crushed chips. "I get the feeling she's not going to listen to me..."

"Well, she can't perform it if she doesn't fully understand how to use transmutation circles," Alphonse pointed out. "Even if it's a big part of alchemy..." He trailed off, pausing. "But I guess we're not out to teach her as much as we can, anyway."
