"Good so far!" Turtle announced happily as she plopped down and rearranged the sandwiches on her plate. "None today, so I'm kinda bored, but I had fairy tales and ethics yesterday, which both went really well. I was really worried about that Vader guy, especially since I saw him Sunday throwin' around desks, but I didn't think he was that bad at all in class." She shrugged, and started with her ice cream.

"Fairy tales sounds interesting," Tannim said. "I had Magic yesterday. Oh, and apparently I'm a TA for it."

"You're a TA and didn't know it?" Turtle's head tilted, spoon staying in her mouth as she looked at him.

Tannim shrugged. "It was pretty random," he admitted.

"I guess so," Turtle commented, and then leaned in a little, lowering her voice to a conspiratory whisper. "But magic? Really? How'd I miss that one on class sign-ups?"

"'Defense Against Malicious Magics,'" Tannim said. "Maybe you can add it? What classes are you taking?"

"Oh, that one," Turtle's nose wrinkled a little. "Yeah, that seemed...a little beyond my, uh...ability level." Which was Level Zero. She shrugged, picked off a chunk of sandwich. "I like what I got. Fairy tales, ethics, government, science, and creative writing. Nothing special, but, y'know. Stuff my mother won't give me crap about." She popped the bite of sandwich into her mouth. "How about you?"

"I've got Hunting, Anatomy, Engineering and 'Adventuring Survival Tactics.' And the magic class." Tannim said. "I'm being vague about my classes to my parents."

Turtle nodded a little. "I wish I could. But I'm just deftly trying to avoid a lecture. About...anything, really. My mother will find something, I'm sure."

Tannim nodded. "I signed up for Anatomy and Engineering so my parents would think I'm learning something useful."

"I don't even think my mother really cares," Turtle said, a bit sourly. "She just likes to complain."

"Then everytime she bitches at you, you can feel proud you're making her happy by giving her a chance to do something she enjoys," Tannim grinned.

"But I don't want to have her doing something she enjoys," Turtle said with exaggerated dispair, rolling her eyes and lolling her tongue out in an expression of disgust. "I wanna make her as miserable as she makes me."

"Well," Tannim wasn't sure how to answer this. "At least you're away from her now?"

Turtle threw up her arms excitedly, and laughed, "Yes!"
