((For the newbies: The lunch post is for students to gather and chat between 4th and 5th period. Yes, the Chef is a muppet and he has muppet chickens helping him with the cooking. The food is safe...mostly. I'll leave an OOC note if he accidentally leaves a sock in his cake batter or anything. And if you have a suggestion for the lunch post or a plotty type deal with the food then feel free to e-mail me!))

Pippi piles up her tray with some over everything.

And an extra helping of pooddeeng.

The application of a socialist institution like free lunch for students in a mostly capitalist society fascinated Turtle; it also helped that, in inspecting it, she was getting free food. Some socialist institutions weren't so bad. She especially liked how it worked to employ foreigners, althought she was half tempted to ask to see a green card as she helped herself to a bit of everything.

Cheeseburgers for lunch. Even lunches here were better than at home. Unless her dad was cooking. This was a lunch Jake Wexler would approve of. So Turtle approved, too.

"So do the votes count if I get them?" Marco asked as he sat down with his tray.

[identity profile] stocksgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
Turtle looked up at Marco for a second before answering. "Well, I suppose I dont' see why they shouldn't," she said, although her voice suggested that she didn't really like the idea. "Why? Have you gotten any?"

[identity profile] pyroliz.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 07:16 am (UTC)(link)
Liz decided to stop by the cafeteria for lunch, she got a bit of everything and sat down hoping that the food was at least better here than at the last high school she attended.

[identity profile] morpherboy.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
Marco took out a crumpled napkin. "One. From Annette."

[identity profile] stocksgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 07:36 am (UTC)(link)
Turtle took the napkin and eyed it carefully. "And what were the terms in which this napkin was signed?"

[identity profile] morpherboy.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 08:04 am (UTC)(link)
"We were talking. She wrote it. My mun can't find the link." Marco pouted.

Irulan went to the cafeteria wearing her best headdress. She boggled at the prospect of food being served willy-nilly and without assistance. Well.

Before she took any food she let the poison-snooper analyze the foodstuff to ensure none of them were poisoned and edible. One didn't know if assassins followed her this far out.

Upon being informed that the cafeteria food wouldn't kill him, Valentine made a pit-stop to fill up his empty insides.
And his pockets.
Three cheeseboorgers, a small mountain of seled, and four pocketfuls of french freees later, Valentine's appetite was sated.
He liked the cafeteria, indeed.
Never mind that the chef had something of a back home feel to him. Valentine really couldn't put a finger on it. Must be that Valentine is also produced by Henson.

[ooc:If there's any interaction to be done, my reply will likely be slow or nonexistant for most of the day. Just a heads-up.]

[identity profile] henryoredward.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Henry got a bit of everything and sat down.
He couldn't, however, quite bring himself to eat it with his hands, so he took a knife and fork to the whole meal.

[identity profile] stocksgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 03:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Turtle nodded. "Right, but what did you tell her about the bet? Were you all, 'hey, write this out because I said so,' or did you explain to her the conditions of the situation?"

[identity profile] morpherboy.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Marco rolled his eyes. "I told her about the bet and she volunteered to write a note, I didn't even ask her."

[identity profile] stocksgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Turtle nodded. "Excellent. I'll definately add Annette's contribution to the poll, and possibly look into some nice crazy-people hospitals for her." She stuck her tongue out at Marco, but she was grinning.

[identity profile] morpherboy.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Marco stuck his tongue back at her. "It's not my fault I attract the pretty girls!"

[identity profile] stocksgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"My petition has two more pretty girls than your napkin, at the moment, so don't start getting too cocky."

[identity profile] morpherboy.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Marco pouted. "We'll see."

[identity profile] stocksgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Turtle met Marco's pout with a slightly malicious grin as she chomped into a french fry. "Oh, yes. That we will."

And then, seeing that they'd exhausted that conversation (there was, after all, only so much that could be said about a situation as simple as 'Turtle's right'), Turtle asked, "What kinda classes ya got today? I've already had my fairy tale class, and I got ethics after lunch."

[identity profile] morpherboy.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 03:55 pm (UTC)(link)
"We're in ethics together, and I can't decide if the radio guy was being sarcastic or not. And I'm in pop culture. I haven't actually bothered to check what other classes I have."

[identity profile] bound2blade.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
There were...actually people in the cafeteria, a significiant amount, which struck Setsuna as odd, but also an opprotunity to not eat alone. Several new kids, too, which made her a little nervous. Let's see...there was Pippi, and her roommate, but that would be awkward and he was talking to someone already, anyway.

Ah, but here was someone she'd met only briefly. "Hello," Setsuna bobbed her head a little as she approached, "Henry, isn't it? Would you mind if I joined you?"

[identity profile] stocksgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
"Haven't actually bothered? What, are you trying the 'live my life by the day' thing?" Turtle tilted her head a little. "And I've heard some stuff about the ethics teacher, too, that he's really scary and wears a lot of black. So I've prepped myself not to be shocked by anything." She nodded firmly to confirm that point.

[identity profile] morpherboy.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"No bringing CD player to class, got it. And nah, just not a school type of person."

[identity profile] stocksgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
"Ah," Turtle nodded. "I can get that. But it's not like the class scheduals seem real rigerous or anything like that. I don't even have any classes tomorrow. That's gonna be weird...nice, don't get me wrong. But definately weird."

[identity profile] morpherboy.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
"I have Wednesdays and Fridays off, which is going to rock."

[identity profile] stocksgrrl.livejournal.com 2007-01-08 04:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"Wednesdays off are good," Turtle said with a nod, and then a grin. "Gives you no excuse to not come visit me at work."
