Popular Culture [Monday, January 8, 7th period]

The classroom looked ordinary enough, not much surprises around or squirrels Rose hoped. She took a chalk and wrote:

'21st Century Popular Culture" then after some debate added, "Earth."

Rose faced the class and tried not to look so nervous, they looked to be a varied bunch.

"Right, I'm Rose Tyler." She began, "You can refer to me as 'Ms. Tyler' in class but hopefully not outside of it, since Ms. Tyler would likely be my mother." Rose distributed the handouts. "Before we begin, I'd like everyone to introduce themselves and what, exactly, each of you will be expecting from this class."

Edward glanced away. After a long minute he took another deep breath. "There was an accident in New Heissgart," he said slowly. "It was a year or so back, my time... no one made it out." There. That was abridged enough, he hoped. "I can't believe that she's here," he murmered, then shook his head again, looking very squarely at Alphonse. "No alchemy. Don't teach her a thing, you hear me?"

Alphonse had opened his mouth to say... he didn't know what, so he shut it, suddenly very reluctant to look in Armony's direction. He had no reason to ask for details-- as doing so in both a classroom and the girl's presence probably wasn't the wisest of ideas-- even if Edward's last statement had piled on top of some confusion. "Um, alright," he slowly agreed. "But what harm would a little alchemy do to her?"

Edward glanced back over at Armony as well. "I'll ... explain it later. You have any classes tomorrow? No, screw that. Meet me in the cafeteria for lunch."
