Good Omens...And Bad: Prophecy in Theory and Practice, Lab Fourteen

As always, students have their pick of a nice arrangement of breakfast treats and beverages. The seating has been arranged into more of a circle than the usual pairs, and in one of the chairs is seated a blond boy in his mid-teens.

"Good morning, everyone! I want to remind everyone that your final projects are due in the box in my office by the end of the day.

This has been an amazing experience for me, and I want to thank all of you again for making my first teaching job such an enjoyable one.

Today, since it's our very last day, we're going to forego the usual experiments. Instead, we have a guest speaker, who's going to tell you a little bit about his experiences with being the subject of a prophecy. Class, this is an acquaintance of mine from Lower Tadfield, Adam Young."

Blair waited till class was over to come up to Aziraphale. "Hey, man. How's it going?"

Giving Blair a bright smile, Aziraphale replied, "Well, not too badly, really. I'm terribly sad for the term to be over, but I suppose I'm looking forward to a quiet holiday. And how are you doing?"

"I know, it's sort of a bummer. But at least it's only for a little while and then we start back up again!" Blair bounced. "I'm great, man. Ivanova is picking us up tomorrow and then I'll be hanging out in space for the holidays."

"Oh, that sounds like an exciting trip! Is River going with you as well?"

Aziraphale nodded at Blair's reassurances. After all, he wasn't going anyplace, and would be back to teaching classes and visiting with the students again in just a couple of weeks.

"Yup! It should be a lot of fun." Blair bounced excitedly and dug around in his backpack. "I have you and Dr. Wilson's Christmas present today. Thanks for mine, by the way. I couldn't really decide what to get you guys and I figured you probably wouldn't have one of these."

He held out a metal box with a star map and certificate inside declaring that a star was now named Aziraphale and Wilson.

Aziraphale carefully read the certificate, his smile widening as he came to understand what it meant.

"Oh my...Blair, I think that's one of the nicest things anyone has ever given me, and I know James will be awfully pleased. Thank you so much!"

He gave his young friend a tight hug. "And I'm so pleased you liked your gift as well."

"My gift was so cool, man!" Blair hugged Phale back and bounced. "You're welcome, man. I'm glad you like it. Merry Christmas!"
