Walter snickered at the image. "Pup cornered my journal under the bed when it got the same idea."

Pippi batted away one of Walter's books to keep it from attacking her sandwich and getting... stuff all over it.

"So whatcha studyin' for?"

"Hunting." Walter picked up his tray and set it heavily on top of the progressively more restless stack of books. "Our final is hunting, trapping, and banishing a demon, I think. I can't go double check at the moment so I want to be sure I have these rituals exactly right."

"Wow, when are you supposed to do that?"

"Wednesday. I'll be sorry to see that class end. It's been the most interesting one I've had this semester."

"You mean the one you find most useful." Pippi said smartly.

"Is there a difference?" Walter asked unrepentantly. "Actually, I find CSC to be quite useful, but we don't destroy things in that class."

Which really, when you got down to it, was always where Walter's amusement priorities lay.

"Yes, yes. I quite enjoy dancing and playing with Pup and spending time with my friends, too."

Pippi was not so naive as to think that playing with Pup served no other purpose.

"So. Three hour day cruse..."

"Sounds like just the trick," Walter said, smacking one of his books with a soup spoon.

"You said something about an island? Do you know anything about it? I don't suppose it will be in some Fandom-style makes-no-sense tropical zone, will it? With warm sand and sun?"

"That's what I'm hoping." Pippi nodded. "But we might want to be prepared for anything. I did find the chart in the library of this school after all... Still... it looked normal."

Walter laughed and thwapped his demonology text again. "And so do the four of us who are going on this little trip, so we see how much that means."

"It's half the fun."

"It doesn't have to be normal." It didn't have to be safe, either, in Walter's book. As long as his friends weren't badly hurt, it would all be in good fun.
