[Media Studies & Communication: Week 15, 4th Period]

As the students walked in, they could see they each had a cupcake from Logan's handwavy early morning trip to J,GOB. There was coffee percolating and also eggnog for anyone who'd like to take part.

Logan looked up, midway through his own cupcake, and waved to the class as he swallowed his mouthful of pastry. "Hi, guys, and welcome to the last Media class for the term. This will be easy, since you've ideally done all your work before now, but if you haven't then you'll be challenged to come up with a really good excuse for why not.

"Turn in your signatures, and then I'm asking you write a brief paragraph on what you've learned from this class - or not, if you didn't learn anything. I won't be offended. After that, you're free to go. And thanks, sincerely, for being such a great class of students. I've enjoyed our time together quite a bit."

[OOC: Wait for OCD is up! And, like Logan, I've really enjoyed doing this class and I hope you guys have as well. :) Thank you so much!]

Jake proudly handed over his list (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/909392.html). And the poster, to prove that it wasn't a swim team sign up list.

Ray showed up with a small list of signatures, a poster selling himself as the 'Best Sleeper in the World', a sleeping mask given to him by one of the signees, and the record Mr. Sandman.

It was all part of the project.

Mac's signatures are in the form of a website she created with a guestbook function allowing vistors who agreed with whatever hanwavey thing she sold about herself to sign, with IP logging just to prove she didn't make them all up.

She's just hoping that the fact she didn't get actual handwritten signatures will be okay.

Sam came in with ten handwavey signatures for his petition, along with his poster.

Sam handed in a handwaved list of people who were apparently in favor of getting a food delivery service from the mainland to Fandom.

Kawalsky had no signatures, Kawalsky needed no signatures. Why would a prince need signatures? He signed a piece of paper and handed it in. There. His own signature would do.

It was entirely possible that he was more deluded than usual today.

Peter turned in his handwavey list of signatures and his poster that promised bungie rides from his webs.

Not that he ever displayed that poster. He just had fun with it in Photoshop yesterday.

Jaye could have done better, but mostly she had advertised herself as the not-crazy girl and gotten two signatures. Apparently people listen to the radio.

Carmela hands over a list of signatures of a fairly decent length.

Rory turned in her *dances in a creative way, involving the waving of hands* signatures.

Hamlet turned in a completely handwaved decently-long list of signatures as part of a petition to save the wild miniature giraffe.

I have learned that if you want people to pay attention to what you're saying, you should make it look pretty and shiny, and preferably there should be something in it for your reader/watcher/whatever Jake wrote, and then went on to talk about propaganda in glowing terms.

I have learned all I need to know about the media. People will believe anything you tell them as long as you tell it to them in the right way.

The key purpose of the media is to have people hear and accept your message, no matter what it may be. The best way to do such as thing is to dress it up in the best way you possibly can, and present it to them as something desirable, using whichever method you feel is best for the situation at hand.
