This is today's Study Hall. It's basically a free period in which you can go and do whatever you want at Fandom High -- hang out with friends, study, explore the school, etc. -- just as long as you stay on school grounds.

Otto shrugs. "I do not see vhy not. Better zer dangers you know, I am thinking."

"All right, but we're avoiding Spider's rooms and the... thing outside the teacher's lounge." William tucks his notepad into an easily accessible pocket, and the pen disapears into another.

"Bunny," Otto says carefully, after a long and thoughtful moment. "Yes. Bunny. Ve vill avoid zer large pink bunny."

He heads for the door.

"That's not a bunny." William follows him out, at a careful distance.

"Technically it is, zhough if you vant to call it something else, please do. I vould like to hear it."

Otto falls back a little in an attempt to walk more or less next to William.

William eyes him warily for a moment, but doesn't slow down further. Mostly because then he'd be standing still.

"It's a mutated creature that looks like a bunny. It can't actually be a bunny-- at the very least, it's been modified somehow, which makes it not a bunny anymore."

That would sound more precise if he didn't have to keep saying 'bunny.'

Otto considers this.

"Giant pink mutated rabbit," he says firmly after great deliberation, and smiles proudly at having made this announcement.

Proudly and rather pointily.

William winces very faintly. "Mutated rabbit," he agrees.

There is an awkward silence.

"So!" Otto says at length, very cheerfully, "vhere are ve going?"

"I don't know," William says. "You're leading."

"Am I?" Otto considers this. "Vell! Zer library, zhen."

"You'll need to fill out a form so you can borrow books," William says. "I stopped by earlier today. It's huge."

Otto shrugs. "I am needing to fill out forms for everything here, I haff found," he says, and picks up the pace a little. "Unfortunate. I haff a very long name."

"You don't need to use all of it, do you?" William asks, following along behind, speeding up a little. He doesn't like following, really.

"No, just Otto Chriek vill do."

Otto stops very suddenly. "I say. Ve are going in zer right direction, yes?"

William almost runs into him, and hisses unhappily.

"Yes. Turn left and go straight through the next two corridors."

Otto jams his hands in his pockets and hunches his shoulders.

"Okay."

They walk in silence for a few moments, and Otto bursts out, "Look, if you are so uncomfortable you did not haff to come!"

"You oughtn't to have asked, then!" William snaps back heatedly. "Trying to be polite, since I'm working and living with you."

"I am too!" Otto snaps back. "Look, I am sorry if you're going to be so damn uncomfortable around me, but it is not as zhough I can help it--"

"Neither can I!" William yells, and turns on his heel, heading back toward their rooms.

Otto winces, but doesn't call after him.

William's pen has fallen out of his pocket, though, and Otto picks it up as William disappears down the corridor.

He winces again and resolves to return it later. He doesn't feel sensible enough to yell anymore right now.

He proceeds to the library on his own.
