Dance, Period 5 Thursday

"Next week is our final week of class," El said as he faced them. "Rather than go over new steps, I'm going to give you this time to get into your groups and work on your final projects during class period. I'll be here if you need advice or have questions."

Lana sort of worked on her project and sort of stared into space dreamily.

Yeah, there wasn't much of a chance that Nadia was going to not notice another person with their shoulder all bandaged and immobilized up. "Lana, are you okay?"

"Hmmm?" Lana looked up dreamily. "Oh, hi, Nadia. I'm good. Just the dislocated shoulder thingy."

"Yeah," Nadia gestured to her own shoulder. "I know how that feels. What happened?"

"Oh," Lana said, trying to focus. "When we went to rescue Marie, this woman attacked me and kicked me in the shoulder and dislocated it. But we saved Marie!"

". . . Marie needed to be rescued?" Nadia rubbed the bridge of her nose. "Dios, everything's falling apart around here, isn't it."

Lana looked around the room and at the ceiling a little nervously. "Falling apart?"

"People getting kidnapped, trolls attacking, the whole Marty and Bel thing, now Marie needing rescuing, too. . . . It's all nuts!"

Lana wasn't quite following the whole thing, but she nodded at Nadia. "Nuts," she agreed. "And I really don't like them on ice cream sundaes."

And now Nadia wasn't exactly following Lana. "Marie was attacked by ice cream sundaes?"

Lana's eyes went wide. "She was?? Wow, I must have missed that part!"

Nadia was now thoroughly confused. "Didn't you just say she was?"

"Say she was what?" Lana asked, looking even more confused. "I'm sorry. My brain doesn't seem to be working too well today."

". . . That's okay. Maybe you should go lie down?"

"Oh, but I'm supposed to be working on my project," Lana protested. "I don't think I can really do that lying down, can I?"

"You can if you're only brainstorming and things. You don't want to get more hurt." Nadia rubbed her own injured shoulder. "Trust me, that really sucks."

"Yeah, I bet," Lana said sympathetically. "Do you think the teacher will mind? And hey, what are you doing for a project?"

"I hear you broke the statue of liberty?"

"Wasn't me," Lana said defensively. "I just watched."

"Oh." he said. "So who did it?"

Lana tried to shrug without moving her bad shoulder. "Dunno."

"Fair enough. So I've got this christmas card (http://www.cafepress.com/opheliasart.5581642) for you."

Inside was written:

A catagory all your own.

Lana blinked at it. "Oh. Um... thank you." She looked rather confused.

Yeah billy was new at the whole Christmas thing. Was he not supposed to get her a card? Or was it the cow that was confusing her. "So, Merry Christmas. Or, whatever it is you celebrate."

"Thank you," Lana said. "The same to you."
