Your family homeworks were...interesting. I have to say, you are cetainly an interesting bunch to teach. Well, today we're talking about something that's similar to family...sex. You see, sex leads to family, so it seems kind of fitting.

Every society has some different view of sexual relations. Some people find their sexual partner without looking for love, other look for love first, then sex. So, today we're going to look at an article that has to deal with the different views of sex.

Homework: Similar to the family assignment. I would like at least one paragraph describing your outlook on sexual relations and the view as seen through the eyes of your people where you come from. In other words, what do you think of sex and what does everyone else think of it?

*hands back the quizzes* Due to popular demand, I've had Vala people complain that the slides were boring. So today we are focusing on grave goods. Because they are shiny and fun to look at

*turns off lights and starts slide show*

Homework: Answer this question: If you were living in this time period of Ancient Egypt, what sorts of things would you want to be included in your tomb?

Hands in homework which reads:

As I understand that death may not be exactly permanent according to you and I'm not sure of the process by which one finds oneself alive again, I believe I'd want to be buried with food, very sharp implements for digging my way out, weapons in case I met hostiles on my way out, shiny pretties some form of currency or something I could trade, some new sexy clothes, some kohl for my eyes, and a frelling hairbrush and nail clippers!

Ivanova turns in her homework. She got a new agenda. This one seems to be working much better than the last.

Well, "my people", as you so eloquently put it, are Catholics from the USA. So they believe in no sex before marriage, and aren't too thrilled with the idea of homosexuality.

As you might have guessed from my time here in Fandom High, I don't share those views. I believe that a person should be able to fall in love with whomever they wish to, whether they be the same or the opposite sex. We all have the potential to fall for a partner of the same sex, but often the forced society views make people feel that homosexuality is wrong, and should be something for which you are punished. (Example, the Catholic church). Forms of “sexual expression” are, at a deeper level, modalities of social relationships that have very real public consequences. Whatever a society accepts as legitimate “in the bedroom” inevitably becomes a choice affecting the status of husbands, wives, children, and many others. The problem being, so far, only a few places allow gay marriage/same-sex unions.

Sex is fun, and I'll admit to that. But sex without feelings just makes me feel dirty (which is possibly the last remnants, (and as Father Josesph would say, the last salvation of my soul) of my Catholic upbringing.) With "making love" being another name for sex, it stands to reason that there should be some feelings behind it, such as affection. Revenge and spite and anger don't count.

There is also the social stigma surrounding sex. Yes, it is a private act between two (and admittedly, sometimes more) people. But it is biologically necessary for reproduction, and is something that the majority of the population will do at least once in their lives. I'm not advocating for public sex, but people need to be less prudish about it. There also needs to be more formal education at a younger age, and contraceptives need to be introduced to stop the increasing rates of teen pregnancy. If we can't stop teens having sex, then they should at least be protected.

And to be honest, it doesn't matter whether I'm having sex with Kawalsky or Janet, as long as I'm not having sex with them just for the sake of sex, and that I actually do care about them. Which I do

*DEATH, for those who can see, looks down at his skeletal form and ponders his lack of parents, grandparents, or girlfriend. He scribbles out a single line on a peice of parchment. It reads:*

I would want to be buried in a proper working! sarcophagus, of course, with lots and lots of the finest gilded and gem-encrusted grave goods to show I was truly loved by my worshippers, and a convenient Stargate means of exit, should I turn out to not be completely dead anymore yet.
