Gun Club, 12pm

Parker's in a good mood. There are new silhouettes to shoot: trolls, mummies, zombies, and snow monsters. The best places to hit them are marked on the targets.

Who's having fun kneecapping a lot of gremlins and trolls.

Pippi waves at Parker and waits for her to finish kneecapping things.

When she's done giving fake mummies fake lobotomies, Parker takes off her hearing protection and goes over to see Pippi. "Hey. You ready for the trip to West Virginia tonight?"

"Yup! In fact, Chad had a great idea!"

Anything that had both Pippi and Chad happy was something to make Parker cautious. "Oh, really?"

She didn't say it made Chad happy, just ~~blamed it on him~~ that it was his idea.

"I thought it might be cool to have some kind of theme going or something. Like how Chad's always wears Hawaiian shirts and so we could all maybe dress like we're going to the beach or something. So I asked him what he was wearing, and he said 'clothes', which is a good theme but everybody does that one, and I told him my idea and he said he had bunny ears. I got a headband with cat ears on it, and I know Nadia has lobster antennae, so that just leaves you and Zero and we got our theme!"

Parker facepalmed. "Um. I don't think I have anything like that. And! It's Zero's call," she said in relief ~~and much, much amusement~~. "I... certainly can't stop you." Unfortunately. "Themes are good, though. You're right about that."

Pippi considered what kind of ears to get for Parker, because the manager shouldn't really be left out of all the fun.

Seriously.

Maybe bear? Or tiger...

"Yeah. I still kinda like the beach thing because... We would still go together, but be totally different from eachother still. ~~and I have the icons for it already~~."

"Maybe when the weather's better," Parker said diplomatically. "I mean, it's almost Christmas now, and--" Oh, lord. Don't let that give Pippi holiday themed ideas.

Lucky for Parker, Pippi's experience with fairies keeps any ideas popping into her head about everybody dressing up as Santa's Elves, or Black Peter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_peter).

"We could all dress up like we're going to a Christmas party?" Pippi mused.

Parker grinned, then nodded vehemently. "Sure. That'd work just fine. I can't see anything that would be out of place with that. I've even got a suit that would work." She sighed in relief. It would have been more if she'd known about the Christmas-costume bullet they'd just dodged.

~~Damn you, now I'm picturing the whole band dressed up with the girls in skimpy Santa's helper costumes and Chad in a Santa hat, red pants, black boots... and shirtless... ARRRG!~~

Well, either way the gears are turning and she might have to make a stop all Stuff For Sale before they leave.

Parker would probably be busy until they left, so she didn't even think to ask Pippi for details. Or forbid the buying of cat-ears or tiger-ears or something.

"When do we leave for the concert, tonight?"

"Five p.m. Jack was thinking Sam might want to come with us, and she's in Detention until then. And it turns out Teal Dear isn't on-stage until 9-- there's some local band that's opening for you, half a set." Parker grinned. "You guys are now officially headliners."

Nadia's eyes widened, both in excitement and fear. "Wow. That's pretty exciting." And she'd be singining . . . somehow, playing guitar was less worrisome. The singer was the one everyone was always looking at.

"And another record exec, although this one is more about making contacts," Parker said in satisfaction. "For next semester's jobs. This has been really fun. Jail time notwithstanding."

"We know about the exec for sure, then?" And could Nadia pretend that she didn't speak English again if the manager of the place was another jerk?

"Yup, the exec definitely be there. He was hoping to talk to Zero, but probably wouldn't mind talking to you guys too." Parker grinned. "You guys can sleep in Dave on the way back, since we'll be driving back after the concert. Wheeling's motels are all booked this weekend. Some kind of convention. Not a biker convention, though."

". . . Good to know. Does the exec know that I'm filling in for the singing while my arm is out of commission? Because I don't think we want to confuse him. I mean, I might be able to play guitar if I just hold it kind of funny, so I'm not using my shoulder. . . ."

"Yes. And I'm pretty sure Zero was going to talk to you about splitting up the songs, since it *is* her band, and figuring out which ones would be better for the exec to hear with her on lead," Parker said. "But you're going to have to get details on that from her. But don't push the shoulder too much, okay? If you're up to it, great. If not, you can sit a few out. No one will blame you."

No one except, you know, her, and she wasn't willing to do that. "Of course, I'll try to talk to Zero soon. It's her band, she should get to sing. I'll try the guitar thing, too."

She shifted around a bit, unhooking the lower part of the brace, and then did a test air guitar. ". . . It might work. . . . I just have to shorten the strap a bit, maybe pad it up . . . my hand works fine, just not hte shoulder."

Parker watched this with some trepidation. "No re-injuring it! Maybe we can get you a stand to hold part of the weight? Or a waist strap? Or maybe Zero can figure out an arrangement that's easier on you, with rest breaks or something." She cocked her head. "I'm glad you didn't get hurt worse during last weekend. And no one else did, either. Our school isn't as conductive to outside activities when the invasions occur."

Nadia shook her head. "I'm not trying to spend any more time in this brace than I have to, but I want this to go right. Don't worry. If it hurts, I'll stop and we can work something else out." Never mind the fact that she planned to hit up the painkillers like mad before hand to make sure it didn't hurt. "And the guitar isn't that heavy."

"Good," Parker said firmly. "And you've got a full month before our next engagement after this. So you should have plenty of time to heal." She cocked her head. "Are you sticking around here for all of break?"
