Good Omens...And Bad: Prophecy in Theory and Practice: Lab Twelve - Period 2

Wilson had carefully dethawed and in some instances reheated the baked goodies that Phale had made and left for his Prophecy class. Schleping them up to the school, the young doctor headed into the class room and supressed a sigh at the homey configuration that reminded him of it's missing professor.

Setting up the baked nummies along with a group of hot beverages ranging from cider to cocoa, Wilson got himself some hot cider and a few gingersnap cookies and then settled down in an armchair to wait for the students to arrive.

When everyone was settled and in their seats, Wilson stood up, carefully took roll then set his cider aside for a moment.

"Good morning. As I'm sure you are all aware, Professor Aziraphale has had to leave us for a bit and I am helping his TAs cover his classes. Aziraphale left behind handouts for today's lab exercises and if you have any questions about the material, please speak with Miss Halliwell or Miss Belacqua. I will also be here if you have any general questions or concerns. Also, I wanted to let you all know that I am looking forward to today's performance. I have a video camera and will be taping it for Aziraphale to enjoy if when he returns."

Giving the class a reassuring smile, Wilson walked to where the handouts were sitting on the desk and began to pass them out to the class.

LAB TWELVE (FRIDAY, DECEMBER 8, SECOND PERIOD)

LECTURE: Onomancy (also sometimes referred to as onomamancy)is the process of divination through one’s name. This style is more frequently seen in China and Japan, where the characters used to spell a name also hold other meanings. It can, however, be done using the traditional meanings of Western names as well.
Onomancy Handout

Graphology, or handwriting analysis, also has a parallel in the
scientific world. The difference is that while the science of analyzing handwriting is done to produce an understanding of the writer’s personality, the divinatory skill is used to produce a prediction for the writer.
Graphology Handout

LAB EXERCISE: Using your handouts, do a name or handwriting divination for yourself or for your lab partner.

[NOTE: This graphology link is available if you want to do a “real” handwriting analysis. This onomancy link
will do name analysis for you.]

[ooc: OCDs for Prophecy Class are on the way up. Class is in session, have at!]

"Okay." Blair shifted a little in his chair. "No hangover tea needed this morning?"

"No?" Blair looked at the chair for a minute and then realized what he was doing. He quickly shifted again and blushed. "Uh...just a little sore...in places."

If he had thought that statement through, it probably wouldn't have been his first choice of ways to phrase his problem.

"We are." Blair stared at the handgesture for a long moment trying to figure how what dancing bunnies had to do with anything. "Last night was an accident. No worries, though. I slept with an icepack on and it's not nearly as red anymore."

"Protect myself?" Blair blinked and thought back to last night. "Not really, man. I was more worried about getting my pants off."

"I didn't know you cared so much about the ceremony." Blair said, a little confused. "But it's not like I did it on purpose, man. It hurt a lot!"

"Report them?" Blair shook his head. "It was totally my fault, man. Besides, I don't think I'm even supposed to tell anyone I was in her room."

"Yeah." Blair leaned forward to whisper. "Setsuna's room. But keep on the down low, okay?"

"Jude wasn't there, man." Blair shook his head. "Just me and Setsuna."

"Oh, man." Blair's jaw dropped. "Can you imagine if Jude was there too? It would have been even more embarrasing when I spilled the tea all over my lap."

"I got burned when I spilled hot tea in my lap during Setsuna's Japanese tea ceremony." Blair spoke slowly for Dr. Wilson and his apparently 'slow-on-the-uptake-ness'. "That's what I've been talking about, man. Are you sure you're okay?"

Blair took the cookie slowly with the caution one usually displays with the insane.

"Ooookay, man. You're good and I'm good and the cookie is good. It's all good, right?"

"Good." Blair was beginning to think that Wilson was hitting the sauce a little hard. "So what are you up to tonight, man?"

"Devil's nest, huh?" Blair clearly didn't approve. "I was wondering if you wanted to watch some classic horror flicks this weekend?"
