"I'm glad to see you all made it through the weekend in mostly one piece. Light class today, and it's our last for the course work. The book you had to read, and I'll understand if you didn't finish it, was Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol.
The Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future tried to teach Ebenezer Scrooge the spirit of Christmas, no pun intended, and reminded him of his origins. In order to do so they had to show him scenes from his past, present and future. Sometimes dialogue doesn't get the job done and action and description are needed to show a person what's needed to make them see the light.
For example, if you were to try to explain Fandom to someone who had never been here, you'd have quite the task ahead of you. It would be more effective to show them a scene from your past, present or future.
Pick a time frame and describe a scene you would use from that time frame to show an outsider what Fandom is like. If it's the past or present, use a memory or something you heard about on the radio or from a friend. If it's the future, feel free to make it up."
"For your final project in two weeks' time, you'll put together what you've learned about the practical applications of literature. We'll be in the Danger Shop which will be set up to mimic a scene from one of the books from this course. Something will have gone wrong with the story and you'll be given a task to set it back on track. You'll be graded on what you know and ingenuity."
