[Media Studies & Communication: Week 11, 4th Period]

When everyone had filed in, Logan was putting out art supplies and copies of the poster books they'd had last week on everyone desks.

"Hey, guys," he greeted them, moving to sit at his desk again. "Today's a fun exercise, I hope."

Logan gestured to the supplies. "Last week we talked about propaganda and how it works as a tool for influencing opinions with biased information.

"Today, you get to put that to work. Choose the topic, your audience, how you want to skew your information, and then create a poster designed to convey that. If you need any suggestions, take a look at some of the techniques listed on the handout from last week."

"Do you have a turkey?"

"I think Isabel was mentioning something about it," she says. "I'm not a hundred percent she's going to be around, but hey, if need be, can you help me tie Parker to a chair or stuff her in a closet so Isabel can stay behind to help?"

"What does Parker have to do with Isabel being able to help?" Dean asked, confused.

"I think they're supposed to be going somewhere together? I'm not really sure, but I don't see Parker slaving over anything, whereas Isabel's already thinking Christmas cookies."

"True -- Parker doesn't strike me as the cooking type. More the hire someone to cook for her. But maybe just invite her to the dinner we're making -- then she won't be trying to drag away our turker procurer."

"Hm. That's an idea," she says. "I'm not not inviting anyone, because I'll probably have some sort of horrible karmic downfall I'll regret until the end of time or something, but a personalized invitation to let the Organization Queen stay could be a good thing..."

"Personalised invites could smooth a lot of things. If you give one to the principal for example, maybe you can get the school to provide some of the stuff too," Dean suggested. "Also, will give you brownie points with authority."

"Ooh!" Jaye says. "I suck at kissing ass but I can make an effort if it means there's less to pay for!"

Dean grinned. "Always look for ways to make other people pay for things," he told her.

"I thought I was an expert, but I have so muchs till to learn," she says, shaking her head at herself.

"You've come to the right place, Grasshopper," Dean said in a really bad Chinese accent.

Jaye frowns and asks, "Did you have to name me after a bug? Those things are creepy."

"It's a thing. From martial arts flicks," Dean explained. "What the master called the student." He paused. "So what would you prefer I call you?"

She thinks about it. "Jaye works nicely."

"For your real name, yeah. But for your humble seeker of knowledge name..."

"How about Jay without an E?"

"So you want to be known for a loud annoying bird?"

She frowns at him. "Does the E in my name mean I'm not known for a loud annoying bird?"

"Uh..." Dean hesitated. "What would be the right answer here?"

"I don't know, but it should be interesting finding out."

Dean thought fast and offered, "I could call you Seahorse."

That makes her happy. "Seahorse it is," she says. And mentally declares the cabin hers, all hers.
