Music is Love: [12/5] Period 7

"Good news kids!" Lorne exclaimed as the students took their seats. "With all the fun you had this weekend, I'm giving you a break from singing today. That's two weeks in a row you didn't have to sing for me so don't forget to be grateful."

"Instead you have an assignment for next week," Lorne said as he pulled out a box that he had Handwavey picked up from Sparky repairs and opened it. As soon as he opened it, little bots jumped out of the box and started to follow each of the students around playing different musical themes.

"The bots have been calibrated to sense your mood and play an appropriate song that suits that mood. Your assignment is to have your bot follow you around for one (or more) days and keep a log of what music it plays. Feel free to play around with your bot in class today, otherwise I'll see you next week."

"I do have some sad news to report Mary Decanter's parents have withdrawn her from school and will not be rejoining the class," Lorne said with a mournful look. "Though I don't understand why on the memo her name is listed as Marie D'Ancanto. That's it for me kittens! Mwah!"

[OOC: OCD is up. Please read OOC comment thread below. Mwah.]

Jayw winds hers before realizing that's stupid, and she puts it back down quickly, trying to avoid having a mood.

She stares at the bot.

The bot stares back. Then it starts playing the Jeopardy theme.

At the news of Marie, Zuko realised that he hadn't seen her since she left for Thanksgiving. He didn't like what this might mean as he knew she wasn't looking forward to staying there.

He was so distracted by the news that it took a moment for him to realise that his bot was currently playing the Cheers tune. Not that Zuko would recognise it.

Blinking, Zuko stared at it. "Cut it out," he growled.

"You invented this, didn't you?" Zuko accused.

The bot changed tunes to 'Golden Eye'.

"No," Zuko replied as the bot just started singing louder.

"Yes, it is," Zuko agreed flatly.

The bot started singing "liar, liar pants on fire."

"Seems so," Zuko said, faking a laugh as he grabbed hold of the bot and was desperately looking for a way to shut the thing off.

The bot started playing the theme to A Perfect Murder.

Parker stared at Lorne in resignation, then sighed and wound up her bot.

Now some people say that you shouldn't tempt fate
And for them I would not disagree
But I never learned nothing from playing it safe
I say fate should not tempt me

I take my chances, I don't mind working without a net
I take my chances, I take my chances every chance I get

Which was way too appropriate on too many levels to name. Parker ended up grinning and humming along. And wondering if the bot could teach her orchids?

Nadia wound up the bot and hoped it wouldn't start spouting morality lessons.

Hey, karma could be funny like that.

The music coming from the singing slugs, zomg bot is tense and suspenseful.

And a little late, one might say.

Zero's bot was now playing 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.'

"...strangely appropriate," Zero mused.

With a deep sigh, Chad wound up his bot, setting it down in front of him with a sort of apprehension. He had a feeling he knew what sort of song the bot would play.

Sure enough, Johnny Cash's "Hurt" (http://www.elyrics.net/read/j/johnny-cash-lyrics/hurt-lyrics.html) filled his ear.

He grunted. This'll be interesting.

Sam had never been so happy to be injured in her life--she couldn't get the right leverage to wind the bot. She adjusted the sling and played a little with the ACE bandage on her wrist. Unfortunately, there was nothing she could do about the black eye.

"Oh, um, thank you, Lorne." Sam facepalmed as the bot started playing.
