What? You think that just because the teacher and more then a few of her students were kidnapped and/or involved in a complicated and violent rescue attempt that there isn't going to be a creature languages class?

You've got another think comming.

It's going to take more then two days of imprisonment without food, water, or proper toilet facilities to make Mary Poppins miss a day of work.

There is, however, a large tea service set off to one side. Coffee, tea, and a large variety of pettifores set out to one side.

Once the students had what they wanted to eat and drink, Mary addressed the class.

"Well, I'm glad to see you all here after this past weekend. I'm just going to say that I'm very pleased with you how you all handled yourselves. ~~Even Ranma, who thought about using diapers as a weapon. Which actually isn't all that unbelievable if I were to stop and think about it which I won't because... ew.~~

Normally, this would be a review class, but you all did very well with Penguin, and we... Unfortunately, had to skip Spider so... This is a free period. You may review any language you like if you are so inclined.

Please be aware, however, that the next session you will all start work on your final project. This will be a presentation of some sort in the language, or languages, of your choice. You may do this alone or in groups of no more then four.

So you may want to start thinking about that now. Otherwise. The period is yours."

Mary reached into her carpet back, which was behind her desk the whole time, and pulled out a medium sized container containing a selection of the treats that were on the table.

"You're very welcome my dear. Take this with you but don't forget to have something more substantial soon hmm?"

It's possible Door blinks a lot at the container, then grins and hugs Mary. Just saying.

Mary takes being hugged in stride... And hugs back.

"Hey um... What floor is your room on?" He shyly walks over to Door ready to help. "I'm Ranma... by the way..."

"The fourth," Door says, smiling. "I'm Door. I don't really need help, but I wouldn't refuse the company."

"I'm fourth floor too. So... we can just say I'm walking back at the same time. That okay?" He smiles a bit, under all the blushing of course.

Door laughs. "That would be fine." She sneaks the corner of the container open as she walks toward the door, and slides another cake out, then offers the open box to Ranma. "Want one?"

"Oh!" He looks quite surprised by the presentation of food. Also he's dipping his eyes to the floor so she can't see how nervous and blushy he looks. Girls giving him presents. Eep.. "T-Thanks.." He takes one and eats it slowly. Which, for him, is something very out of the ordinary.

Making boys blush is fun, but this is certainly the least amount of work she's ever had to do for it. Door nibbles on her cake and sneaks a glance at him so as not to make it worse. "You're just down the hall from Seely and me, aren't you? In 421?"

"Y-yeah. I'm sorry I've never met you. I don't go out too much..."

Door nods. "I tend to go down to the second floor common room a lot. Ours, not so often."

"I just usually stay to myself really..." He nods and finally finishes the pastry.

"It was probably a good choice this weekend. Or were you out fighting trolls too?"

"I fought trolls... Well... one." He points to his lightly scratched face. "I only was with the first rescue group though."

"Me too. I'm not exactly a battle type, usually." Most of Door's bruises and cuts have faded, though, as abnormally fast as they always do. "The only reason I ended up in the belltower at the end was because someone realized I could be useful for helping the others break in."

"Ah. I'm good at fighting. And I like it." Despite looking scrawny he DID take out a troll with only a few scraches as an injury. "But this weekend I was a bit worried about someone on a trip. I was distracted."

"That can be dangerous. I was worried too, since the trolls had quite a few people I knew locked up." Door looks concerned. "Did your friend's trip turn out all right?"

He smiles happily. For the first time without too much blushing. "Yeah... She got back safe."

"I'm glad to hear it. As far as I know everyone survived the trolls as well." Door's much more used to fights where that's not the case, though before her own family was attacked and she'd come here, she'd only been used to hearing about them.

"That's what I heard too. We got off a lot better than them at least." Well, bad manners die hard. He's licking the crumbs and such off his fingertips from the cake. Ain't he charming?

Door would probably remark on that if she weren't doing the same thing herself.

And there's nothing wrong with that. It's a helpful food conservation technique.
