Beatrix walks into the room, which is lined with mats and other essential things.

"Alright, last class we picked partners and got to know each other, this class, with your partners I want to see what martial arts you know yourself. This will give me an idea of where to start you all."

Max shows up in his starched, white Ghi. He's wearing a white belt, even though he's made it to yellow, because he doesn't want people to think he's showing off. This is unusual. Max seems to have had the show-off beaten right out of him.

He's still wearing the outfit, though.

"Good afternoon, sensei. I've studied Qi Gong, Jeet Kune Do, and Wushu, all under the honorable Darin Berkowitz. At the community center in my hometown," he says, dutifully. He bows his head slightly, out of respect.
