Internet for Dummies, Wednesday 11/29, 3rd Period

The plasma screen is up and running and showing Abby's lab back at NCIS. Abby is busy typing on a computer and talking with a slightly geeky looking guy while someone who looks an awful lot like the media teacher spins on a stool nearby. It's only a moment before Abby checks the monitor and smiles up at the screen.

<table border="3" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="1">
"Morning, guys. I got shanghaied by NCIS, so today's class is going to by remote. Don't worry. I can see and hear everything that's going on in class."
"Which means no hanky panky." Tony stopped his chair spinning and came over to peer into the monitor. "Is Cally there?"
"Actually, we're doing a little bit of hanky panky today." Abby gave Tony a look and shoved him back towards the chair. "We're going to start working on your dating profiles." Abby launched into a small lecture about the history of online dating.
Tony looked up from where he was standing with McGee. "You're teaching them how to do internet dating? Is your whole class made up of G-E-E-K-S?" There was a pause as both Abby and McGee stared at Tony and then McGee shook his head. "Tony, they're in high school. I'm sure they can spell. Besides, a lot of people use the internet for dating these days."
"Since I'm very busy today and they volunteered, McGee and Tony are going to help you guys out with your profiles." Abby grinned over at her coworkers. "Make sure to come up to the monitor for any questions."
McGee looked a little nervous when he smiled out at the students. "Uh...sure. I'm Special Agent Timothy McGee and I've got some experience with computer dating so I'd be happy to help."
"Why does that not surprise me, McGeek?" Tony leaned forward towards the monitor. "I'm the even more special Special Agent Tony DiNozzo and obviously I've never needed to use computer dating, but I can give you guys some real dating advice."

"So what can I do to make my profile more attractive to others?" Jamie asked.

He mentioned her girlfriend and hanky panky in the same sentence, of course she wants to talk to him.

"So, how'd you recommend we discourage the womanising pervs?"

Door's working on her profile, but she gets as far as "interesting things about me" when she decides she needs some advice.

So she talks to Tony.

Yes, we know, but keep in mind her previous source of dating advice was Faithful.

"Mr. DiNozzo? Do you think I should include in my profile that I own a see-through PVC dress? I think it's interesting, but I suppose other people might be bored by descriptions of one's clothing."

"What's with your hair?" Ray was interested, okay.

Evie conscientiously made her profile, and then stopped in the middle. "Um. Mr. DiNozzo? Should I put in my real age, or my subjective age? And, we don't actually *have* to date them, do we?" She frowned, remembering something else. "Um, what's a geek?"

"So what should I do if I don't want a new boyfriend?" Angela asked. "If I fill in that I weigh 480 pounds, would that work?"

Buffy poked the screen. "Um, hello? Mr McGee, sir?"

Mac is definitely around, because she's a pro at this and done with her profile.

Ask away. She might even answer properly, so long as your questions aren't too stupid.

Jude is staring at the computer in complete consternation on the very first question. He wondered if it was possible to discreetly talk to a screen.

"Uh, Professor Abby?" he finally worked up the courage to say. "Doyouhavetodothebitaboutmanseekingwhatever?"

Pete didn't have a lot of experience with dating. In fact, his experience was almost entirely based on watching Big Smith and Dixie, or Brisco and Dixie.

As a result, his idea of dating involved cheating on people and stealing babies.

His profile probably reflected that.

I watched NCIS last night! And it is all your fault!

I have a massive massive crush on Tim McGee because I Netflixed the first season of NCIS. I Netflixed because of your Abby.

I blame you for my McGee crush!
