Thanksgiving- The cafeteria- Thursday, 4 pm onwards

Once the food is cooked, it's time to set it out, and start yelling at people to get their butts down to dinner.

There's a full spread, complete with all the traditional Thanksgiving stuff. Turkey, sides, and all the fun dessert stuff will be brought out later. There's a cooler full of drinks (non-alcoholic, as hi, Jaye did invite the principal) and everything should be good. And if it isn't... eh. Deal.

"You're going to be even more thankful when I tell you that I saved some just for you," Willow said.

Peter leaned over to kiss her on the cheek. "Best girlfriend ever."

Willow grinned at him. "Darn tooting."

"Quite possibly the oddest expression ever," Peter remarked.

"I know!" Willow said, glad he agreed with her. "Did people make socks for trumpets so often that it needed to come up?"

Peter chuckled. "You need to look it up in one of those dictionaries that tells how the phrase originated."

"Maybe it was from a marriage between a seamstress and a musician," Willow said. "Their love trancended both their professions and their idioms."

"Perhaps," Peter said. "Though in my admittedly small experience, seamstresses pass off darning to lower ranking people."

"So it's a Cinderella story," Willow replied, not deterred in the slightest by this.

Peter blinked and realised that Willow was determined to have her way in this. "The turkey is really good," he commented and took another bite.

"The potatoes are also good," Willow said. "Quite expertly peeled, I find."

"Well, Jack and I are the finest potato peelers in all the land," Peter replied with a grin.

"I don't doubt that in the slightest," Willow said. "I'm very picky about the guys I am snuggly with."

"You're snuggly with Jack?" Peter teased.

"You had to find out eventually," Willow replied in kind.

"I suppose Jack isn't a bad choice," Peter said faux-woefully.

"He's really good at that potato-peeling," Willow agreed.

"He is indeed, but I still finished my potatoes first," Peter felt the need to point out.

Willow patted him on the arm. "Sometimes speed isn't always a bonus."

Peter choked on a mouthful of cranberry sauce.

Willow looked innocent. "You okay, sweetie?"

Peter took a hasty swallow of water. "Yes, thank you."

"I could get you more water if you need."

"No thank you," Peter replied, shaking his head at her.

Willow grinned and kissed him on the cheek.
