Thanksgiving- The cafeteria- Thursday, 4 pm onwards

Once the food is cooked, it's time to set it out, and start yelling at people to get their butts down to dinner.

There's a full spread, complete with all the traditional Thanksgiving stuff. Turkey, sides, and all the fun dessert stuff will be brought out later. There's a cooler full of drinks (non-alcoholic, as hi, Jaye did invite the principal) and everything should be good. And if it isn't... eh. Deal.

"Not just any friend," Bridge grins. "Girlfriend."

Rory grins. "You saved me a spot," she says, sitting down happily.

"I didn't want to take the chance that we'd end up at, like, opposite sides of a table. Or worse, at *different* tables," Bridge says, wide-eyed.

"That would be the worst ever," she agrees, pressing a kiss to his cheek. "Hi!"

"Hi!" Bridge says. "Did you help with the cooking stuff?"

"Are you kidding?" Rory asks with a giggle. "No, but I brought pie and I watched the parade with Aeryn."

"Just thought I'd check," Bridge says innocently. "So I'd know if there was some part of the dinner I should try and avoid."

Rory pouts. "Well, no, but now I know not to cook for you for any upcoming anniversaries or anything. Speaking of which...."

"Ours is this weekend," Bridge says with a nod. "I, um. Wanted to talk to you about that, because I had an idea for a thing..."

"Shoot," she said, raising a brow.

"Well, *you* didn't get to go to Vegas before. And *I* didn't, either. So I think just the two of us should," he says.

Rory stares at him. "We should go to Vegas?"

"Yes!"

"...this weekend?"

"Um. Yes?" Bridge sounds a little less sure of himself now.

Rory pulls out a little notebook and starts neatly writing down things like Call Gpa's trav. agent and Look up hotels onl.

"Sounds great," she says, smiling as she writes.

Which is when Bridge reaches over to pull something from the pocket of the jacket still draped over the back of Rory's seat.

"You can stop writing stuff down," he grins, sliding the envelope over to her. "Open that."

Rory looks at him, and carefully opens the envelope.

"Plane tickets," she says softly, grinning. "You already took care of it."

"I was really, really hoping you'd say yes, so I went ahead and made all the arrangements," Bridge says. "Hotel and everything. And now I'm really glad SPD set me up with a fake ID and stuff, because trying to explain why an almost-two-year-old was buying plane tickets? Would be kind of difficult."

Rory giggles and leans over to give him a kiss. "Maybe a little," she agrees. "Thank you."

"You're welcome," Bridge grins. "The flight's not till tomorrow afternoon, so we don't even have to be up absurdly early to make it to the airport or anything."

"I have to let Mom know tonight," she says thoughtfully. "Oh! And I have to pack! There isn't time to shop but I can do that there. The shopping's supposed to be great in Vegas."

Bridge bounces, amused by the happy babbling. "Well, we'll find out, won't we?"

"We can't gamble, of course, but...it'll be nice to get out of Fandom," she says.
