The classroom had been laid out with mats and such around the room, and there were a variety of weapons and diagrams on using said weapons lying about.

Not a single one of the weapons was real.

"Okay, guys, time for part two of the stage combat section of the class. Last week we did unarmed combat, this week? Armed. We have cap guns, stage swords, foam billyclubs. . . . as well as women's shoes and a silver tea tray. All of these things can be deadly weapons, so please handle them with care. You get injured or dead and you fail for today, got it? I want you guys to group or pair up, grab a weapon of choice, take a few minutes to get the feel for it, look over the diagrams in how to use it on stage, and go to it." Daisy listed off a lot of safety precautions, just in case. She didn't want any spontaneous graveling creations in her class.

"Perhaps one of the greatest things you can do as an actor is play out a good death scene, so I also want you to 'kill' each other in these fights today. Try your hand at being Pyramus and/or Thisbee, and give yourself a great, tragic death. Make me cry, folks."

John and his plastic fork of doom signed in.

Angela signed in and nabbed the tea tray.

Having missed last week's class, Sakura is a little confused walking into class today. She whips out her staff after some hushed muttering in Japanese, just to be safe. If she's wrong, do correct her. ^_~

The Hitachiins snagged some interesting swords and signed in.

Zero signed in. She already had her weapon of choice, that being a neon green croquet mallet.

Hamlet signed in. He probably wouldn't be allowed his real daggers in a class like this, so he decided to go with a stage sword instead.

JD signs in with Laddie at his side. He figures that a dangerous rabid dog is a pretty good weapon. It worked for Cujo, right?

She's telling you all to beat on each other with foam weapons. Is she insane?

Just not, you know, for real. You die and you fail. Injuries also fail.

Let's. Get. Melodramatic!

Angela flourished heer tea tray and waited for an opponent.

"En garde?" Zero suggested, brandishing her mallet.

Angela looked doubtful, but remembered going up against Zero's mallet was part of the assignment. "You have more experience with that than I do with this," she pointed out, but held the tea tray in frnt of her with both hands like a shield.

"Yes," Zero said, "but I'm supposed to be trying to not do damage." She gently swung at the tea tray.

She doesn't know first aid.

Angela gave Daisy a curious look. "We only fail for today?"

"I'd probably give you detention, too. And class participation is a big part of your over all grade. One class failure could quite possibly bring you down an entire letter grade."

"But we'd be dead," Angela said, very very slowly. "I mean, if we killed each other."

"That's right. Dead and in detention, and with a very bad grade."

Angela just looked at Daisy for a second, and then shrugged. "Okay," she said, and wandered back over to her tea tray. Maybe death wasn't permanent in Fandom now.

To life! And it's many deaths.

And massive bonus points if you know where that quote comes from.
