Heroism, Humanism & Hijinks: Literature in Action, Week 11, Period 5 (Danger Shop)

[OOC: Summary for Treasure Island.]

When the students entered the Danger Shop, they would have found themselves on the deck of a large sailing ship. There was only a slight rolling of the ship, but people with sensitive stomachs might have felt a little bit queasy.

"Welcome to the Hispaniola. Captain Flint couldn't make it, but this is an approximation of his ship. We're going treasure hunting, but in order to understand what our protagonists had to do before they could get on with the story, we'll be planning our own venture. Then you can play pirates."

Door nods. "I didn't think you'd been playing pirates since the beginning of class. Though I suppose you could be a real pirate, like the one on the radio."

Billy laughed self deprecatingly. "Heh, sorry on Halloween a bunch of people thought I was dressed up as a pirate, so, I just...no, not a pirate. Known a few of a sort, but not one myself. I fall on the Ninja side of that conflict."

"Is there some sort of unhappiness between them?" Door asks. "There's a lot of little wars and longstanding grudges where I'm from, but I hadn't heard of that particular one."

"I don't know of anything specific, but I've heard rumblings of kind of a hopefully friendly rivalry between the two."
