Self-Defense, Thursday late afternoon, 4pmish

Having sent a *handwavey* e-mail to everyone that Self-Defense was meeting early, Parker made sure the mats were laid out, and that nacho dip and chips and drinks were on a nearby table. She raised one sardonic eyebrow as people filed in.

"Hey. Alanna's sick, still. Or at least really not up to sparring with you guys. So she asked me to fill in, at least on getting you set up. Mr. Winchester might be a little late, he has office hours before this." She smirked. "Just be glad I'm not usually in charge of this club."
all
She went through a few Aikido moves-- the first four throws, holds, and breaking of the same-- pointing out that many Japanese police officers are required to learn some Yoshinkan Aikido in the performance of their job.

"Pair up, and see how these techniques work for you."

[ocd going up. Parker knows Aikido. I don't.]

Teddy nodded. "Let me know if I'm holding too tight or anything."

He twisted, trying to do what Parker showed them before.

"No I'm good." he said, and pulled, twisting just the way you were supposed to in order to break loose. Barring superstrength, he should succeed.

Super-strength? Check.

Teddy tightened his grip, not letting Billy slip out of the hold.

Billy grunted and frowned as he failed to get out of the hold. That should have worked. Okay so Teddy was a bit stronger than he'd thought.

Teddy released his hold on Billy's arm. "Want to try putting me in a hold now?"

"Actually I kind of want to try getting out of that hold again. You're stronger than you look."

Easier said than done. "If you're sure you want to."

Teddy put Billy back into he same hold as before, making sure to keep his grip firm but not bone crushing.

The point of many martial arts, is that strength is secondary. Even the tiniest person could get loose from a stronger opponent in they only...

Billy twisted and pulled, slightly different than before, this time, he got loose.

...knew how.

Teddy looked surprised. "How'd you do that?"

Holds and breaking them were safe to do at half speed. "Here, get me again I'll do it slower. I doubt it would work a second time, with things like this, surprise is a bonus."

Teddy nodded and pulled Billy's arm back into the hold, watching his movements carefully.

Billy showed how his twist and pulling motion had basically caught Teddy's hand off guard and broken his grip.
