Archaeology Club: 3pm, The Albatross Cave

Evie was carefully:

1) Taking pictures
2) Affixing index cards with paperclips and teeny bits of string
3) Roping off areas to be explored next
4) Putting up lights
5) Waiting for other people.

There was an open box of donuts and one of croissants next to the coffee thermos at the entrance to the big chamber where the Albatross had been wrecked.

Billy began roping off areas for future exploration.

Evie waved to him when she had a moment, taking a photo of Billy next to the prow of the ship. "Isn't this *lovely*? Ooo, did you see the forecastle? I'ts still intact!"

"I...may have. Which one's the forecastle? Oh and i've set my watch alarm for 4:30, in case you wondered what was beeping."

"The front, the top part where you can stand up and steer from. And possibly pretend to be pirates!" Evie bounced up on her toes. "And why have you set your watch alarm?"

"Oh! Then I've seen it from down here but haven't been up there yet. And I want to make it to Fencing at 5, so at 4:30 I've gotta get going."

"Oh, all right then, no problem." Evie smiled happily, and took another photo. "Have you been studying fencing long?"

"About, seven years or so, give or take. Part of my training."

"Training for what?" Evie hummed up and down the scale as she began sketching a little map of the exits and entrances.

Billy continued to rope off areas, including places that seemed not quite as safe. "Martial Arts, stuff like that. My first foster family were ninjas."

"Here, lemme help with those," Chad said, figuring he'd have a much easier time setting up lights than anyone else.

"Oh! Thank you, Chad." Evie let him take the lights from her, and picked up the extension cord. "*So* much easier than torches, I have to say."

Chad grinned a little as he affixed the light into place. "Lot brighter, too, I'd imagine. Never worked with torches before, myself."

"They're bad for so many reasons-- the smoke damages artefacts, the smell, the fire danger, they use up oxygen-- I think I love this century for portable electric torches alone." Evie's return smile is wide and bright. "How has your week been?"

Man, Evie had such a pretty smile...but Chad kept working on the lights as if he didn't notice, idly wondering if this sort of work showcased his muscles well or not.

"S'been good. Were you one of the unlucky ones who missed my party 'cause you were stuck in Vegas?"

Evie might have been admiring the muscles, and telling herself not to. Or trying to remember if there was a reason not to? Oh, it was so difficult, knowing whether to take the Radio seriously....

"No, I wasn't in Vegas, or at your party, I'm afraid. I had a cold this weekend, and stayed in bed, reading this century's trashy novels. All of them, it felt like." She bounced up on her toes again. "Did you have a great deal of fun? I'm very sorry I missed it."

"All of them? That's a lot of fu--" Chad caught himself before swearing. "Uh, that's a lot of reading. It was a good party; nothin' special. But if you're feeling better, then I'm glad you missed it to rest. 'Cause then who would do so awesome at all this?"

Archeology Club would be pretty lost without their fearless leader.

"Well, no, of course not. It just rather felt like it." And quite informative it had been, too. "And that's so sweet of you, Chad." Evie blushed a little, but managed to grin in spite of it. "I rather think Dr. Jackson and Dr. Covington would lead the charge without me, though."

[ooc: and I must crash-- pick up tomorrow, or tie up?]

"Eh, wouldn't be as fun, though."

[[ sleep well; I'll leave it up to you; I'm good with either way *thumbs-up* ]]

Dr. Jackson and Dr. Covington are here to help. Yup.

'cause you know, it's the boundaries that define us. Or something.
