The classroom is in its usual arrangement, with the usual spread of hot drinks and pastries. Although not quite what was available at the Tangiers, unfortunately.

"Good morning. I hope you all got a good rest last night. Today we're going to discuss what you observed over the weekend. Also, please remember that your group projects are due this week. You can submit them today, or there will be a box outside my office all week. Also, don't forget to turn in last week's homework assignment."

LECTURE: "Over the weekend you observed 'professional' fortune tellers plying their trade. Tell the class something about your experience -- what did you observe, how accurate did the predictions seem, what tricks might they have used to make their predictions seem more personal than they really were?

In some places, public fortune telling is outlawed entirely, while other places have laws against telling fortunes for money. Do you believe that divination for profit should be against the law? Should it be regulated in some way?"

HOMEWORK: Finish your group projects and submit them by Friday. Mr Joxer and Miss Rutledge, I know your group has diminished significantly. Please see me after class if you have concerns about your project. [ooc: See the group project thread below for more details.]

"Who's idea was it? Were you looking for topless vampires to bite you?"

"Hey, I didn't even know what the show was until we got there!" Anders didn't answer the first question, but his gaze might have darted toward Bel once or twice.

Look, he hadn't said it out loud. If his body language gave it away, well, um -- oops?

Nadia followed his occasionally darting gaze and put two and two together. "Ahhhhhh. Figures." This was accompanied by an eye roll. "But everyone came out alright?"

"Everyone but the vampires. We're a little chewed on, but okay, yeah."

Why did he have the feeling that between Nadia and Parker, at the very least, Bel was so very dead?

The last time Nadia had lectured Bel, she'd ended up having to fight her way through hell.

So, yeah, she wasn't going to go there again.

"Word to the wise? Don't follow Bel's advice on things."

Anders snorted. "Yeah, especially if it's 'No, I'm not telling you what it is but trust me, it'll be fun.'"

Not that he was feeling particularly wise these days. Stupid boy.

"Yeeeeah, that should have been a big red flag. Still, I'm glad you guys are okay."

"So am I, believe me. You guys get up to any mischief?"

"Strip club. I . . . might have nearly started a fight. But we ended up okay."

"Yeah, everybody got home in one piece, so I'm counting it as a successful trip." Anders raised an eyebrow. "What'd you have to almost start a fight over at a strip club?"

"The fact that Walter is both my boyfriend, and really gay. The women there just weren't willing to believe it. Then one of them tried to pay him to take his shirt off and I pushed her away . . . I was kind of drunk."

"That's because they haven't had a crash course in Fandom, I guess. Not that I'd blame you for being kind of possessive. Plus, the drunk thing kind of excuses you, if you ask me."

"I gave her her money back. . . . She really didn't have any reason to get upset."

"'course not. It's not like you guys were using Walter to run some kind of money-making scam -- not that it would've been out of place in Las Vegas. Not that I'm saying you should've either. But geez, it's not like you ripped her off."

"Exactly. I just walked up to the guy she'd just paid to take his clothes off, sat in his lap, and started kissing the hell out of him. Nothing wrong with that. 'Specially when said guy is your gay boyfriend and not one of the strippers."

"I'm sure the law is completely on your side in this case." You know. Underage factor aside.

"Oh, they totally would be. But we didn't get into a fight, so it's all okay, anyway."

"Then all is well with the world. Or something."

"Exactly."
