Friday, November 10, Second Period

Along with the usual spread of hot drinks and pastries, there are carefully arranged boxes of little coins, sticks, and other sundry divination accoutrements.

"Today we're doing an exercise in a specific type of bibliomancy, divination through the I Ching. There are a number of ways to accomplish this, some of them quite complex. For today's lab exercise, you're going to work with your partner and these handouts. Choose a casting method and try a few passes to see what you come up with.

"There will be no homework assignment today, unless you count my expectation of seeing all of you on the bus this afternoon for our field trip."

"I know where to find the cheapest food, the poker table with the lowest buy-in, who to tip in order to find a boxing match and how to order a call girl." Blair blushed. "Um...not that I'm going to be doing that last one."

"Don't worry, man." Blair said, patting his arm. "If we get into trouble in Vegas I'll make us some aluminum foil hats to avoid Phoebe and River."

"Naomi dated this guy once who said it prevented the government from reading his mind." Blair shrugged. "He apparently hadn't paid taxes in years and the IRS never found him."

"When it comes to repelling your psychic girlfriend, only Reynolds wrap will do." Blair said, attempting to pull off an announcer voice.

"I know you aren't, man." Blair grinned. "But sometimes things happen out of your control and theres..."

Blair stopped and looked at Bel seriously. "Hey, can I ask you a question?"

"Do demonic biker gangs hang out in Vegas?" Blair asked, keeping his voice down so Phale couldn't overhear.

"Probably some," Bel admitted. "Like I said, it's a hot spot for demon activity."

"Just wondering." Blair paled a little and nodded.

"I'm sure it'll be okay," Bel said quickly. "Usually the demons in Vegas are too busy having a good time to be on the look out for anyone."
