World Religions, Wednesday, 2nd Period [11/8]

Cally had pulled down a screen in front of the classroom, and was manning a projector in the back of the classroom.

"Mister Reverend Custer couldn't be here today," Cally said. "So he had me get some stuff for us to watch before he talks on Christianity next week. Don't forget to sign in, and try not to snore too loudly."

Cally then dimmed the lights and played two short features. Episodes of ~~whatever the meta is for~~ Moral Orel and Davey and Goliath.

It was a movie day, yay!

Chad always snored when he slept. Loudly.

...Staying awake was going to be a daunting task, indeed.

Nadia threw popcorn kernals at Chad.

No reason, just because.

Chad didn't realize he was being assaulted by air popped corn kernals until he went to scratch his head at something in one of the shorts and a few came tumbling down. He took a very subtle glance over his shoulder to see where they were coming from, picked them up and, without a glance, tossed them back at her. Very casual and sneaky-like.

Nadia grinned and formed a piece of paper into a blow-gun.

Subtlely.

Yes.

Of course, getting air-popped corn to fit uniformly into a blow-gun was troublesome, so she just started throwing them at him again.

Chad, too, was trying to think of ways to up the stakes a little, but there was only so much one could do with popcorn that didn't involve just getting up and dumping the rest of it over her head.

So he tried flicking instead of throwing. A little difficult with the big-hand to small-kernal ratio and the angle at which they were sitting from each other. God only knew where his attempts ended up....

Back to square one.

Toss!

Nadia giggled silently, and pulled the rubber band out of her hair to create a popcorn-slingshot instead.

That worked pretty well. . . .

"Am I going to have to assign you a detention?" Cally asked, trying her best to be stern.

Which was really hard when she was wanting to giggle.

Nadia sat up straight and tried to look innocent.

While aiming a popcorn kernal at Cally's forehead with the slingshot.

Cally quirked an eyebrow. "Miss Santos, am I going to have to take drastic action?"

Her facade was in desperate danger of cracking.

Nadia continued to look innocent, fluttering her eyelashes even as she loaded up the sling-shot again and aimed it at Cally. "I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about Ms. ~~Henderson~~ Cally,"

"I won't tolerate such flippant attitude in my..." That was it. Cally started laughing. A lot.

Nadia continued to look innocent. Even as she started throwing popcorn at Cally.

Well, crap, Chad knew he should have worn his hair up today...

A rubber band sling shot would be hard to beat. Chad looked around quickly as he took the brunt of the assault, trying to spot something to spark his inspiration.

...Inspiration wasn't sparking. So he snatched up a nearby book and tossed that, sneaky-like, over his shoulder. Not intenting to hit her, just to surprise the crap out of her. Because, really, who threw a book?

And surprise the crap out of her, it did. Who threw a book?

That meant war.

She started adding un-popped kernals to her arsenal.

So she had pulled out the big guns. Chad knew he couldn't fend this off for too long....

He shot some back at her in between carefully, quietly, tearing a page from his notebook and slipping his pencil through two of the holes, then lifting up the makeshift white flag of surrender and waving it a bit.

Nadia did a very small victory dance in her seat. Then started scribbling some very ridiculous terms of surrender, which she balled up and lobbed towards his desk.

Chad carefully uncrumbled the treaty, smoothing it out on the desk and reading each term with deep, dire consideration.

Finally, he scribbled out a reply, crumpled it up, and lobbed it back:

Okay. All except the part about ballet and pink on Tuesdays.

...Any respectable man wears pink on Thursday, never a Tuesday. Duh.

And are frogs an acceptable substitute for the toad clause?

Nadia looked over Chad's attempted ammendments, chewing on the end of her pen, and then replied.

Fine, fine, pink on Thursdays, then. Along with the rabbit ears.

And no on the frogs. Must be toads or ceasefire is off.

Chad grunted a bit at the response, but sent back a note agreeing to it all the same, wondering where the hell he was going to get twenty toads, all with top hats, and sneak them into the kitchen of Cafe Fina by next Wednesday.

Frogs he could do.

Toads were a lot tougher.

Nadia wondered if she should have requested pictures, but figured it was too late. Perhaps she could sneak in herself and plant a few of the pin-sized surveilance cameras she'd used during the paint incident. She offered Chad a thumbs up.

If nothing else, seeing the enormously tall boy wearing pink and rabbit ears would be quite fun.

Even in the face of what awaited him due to the Great World Religions Class Popcorn Massacre, Chad could never refuse a thumbs-up.

Nadia might have to consider throwing popcorn at people more often.
