"Good morning," said V, folding his hands behind his back as students filed in. "Today is a class to which I have been looking forward for some time. Every crimefighter needs to know, specifically, what tools are at their disposal."

He rounded on the class. "Do any of you have a specific weapon you prefer? Or do you rely on wits, or your own strength? Couple this with the clothing you designed some time back. Do they coordinate? What is the reasoning behind each tool?"

He began to pace. "Furthermore, there are the tools used not in battle, but planning. Books. Maps. Technology, I suppose. What do you use to track a criminal, to succeed in the least amount of time?"

He paused, and quirked his head at the class. "This, dear class, is the lead into your final project, which will be worked upon for the remainder of the term. Please pair up. Don't automatically choose your best friend. This person will be your ally for the rest of the semester. They will be your partner, your backup - your other half, as far as this class is concerned. Today your goal is to take your various tools and resources, and see where you are lacking and where you are overdone. What can each of you bring to the partnership, and where do you need to improve?"

He clasped his hands in front of himself. "Simply form an alliance with another person in class, and bring your thoughts on crime-solving together. All right?"

"I've learned about half of my combat stuff here in the last few months," Luke said, "and I'm not great on sticking to plans."

"I generally act in concert with my brother," Peter replied. "And I'm not great at the changing of plans sometimes."

Luke grinned. "We'll be a fun team, then. Okay, off we go to fight crime or whatever. Are you clanking along in armor?"

"I have armour," Peter replied with a grin back. "And it's useful enough, but I'm mostly comfortable without it if it causes issues with sneaking. It's also horribly uncomfortable in the wet. You've Jedi clothes - like what Anakin wore? Wouldn't that cloak get tangled in things?"

"~~Not if you toss it off all overdramatically~~. I think the cloak is kind of optional," Luke decided. "Maybe the rest of the clothing should be black?"

"Then you can lurk in the shadows," Peter agreed. "Though if we end up in a forest, you'll want to go with browns and greens and greys, I'd think. Black stands out too much."

Luke glanced up quickly. "Are you planning on spending a lot of time in the forest?" he asked, thinking back to his dream.

Peter shrugged. "Plenty of forests in Narnia. We end up tracking remnants of the Queen's army through them quite a bit."

"So not until you go back to Narnia, then," Luke said, the muscles in his shoulders relaxing a bit. "Would you be taking Willow?"

"I'd like that," Peter replied. "But there are a few difficulties with it. Why?"

Luke shrugged, looking uncomfortable. "No reason, really. Just curious."

Peter gave him a curious look. "I see. Right then, weapons, clothes, tactics...hmm, what resources do we have?"

"Our stunning good looks?" Luke replied with a smile. "Knowing people who love to do research?"

"See, I thought the first was obvious," Peter said, grinning. "But the second, really, all we'd need to do is set a challenge in front of Rory and Willow and let them go. Once they stop, we can go off and fight the crime they pinpointed." He wrote Rory and Willow down on the list of resources.

Luke nodded. "If it was anything back home, Leia and Han would be resources, too. I guess it depends where we were fighting crime, huh?"

"And Edmund, Su, and Lucy in Narnia," Peter agreed. "But I suppose we ought to focus on here? So the other students at the school, all the Stickbugs, that type of thing."

"Aeryn," Luke added, "Um, V could probably help, too, depending. Maybe Principal Washburn?"

"Definitely Aeryn. Probably Parker too if it was in this world," Peter replied. He frowned slightly. "Last time the principal was told about something, she locked all of us in the dorm for the weekend. She probably would help, but it probably wouldn't be what we wanted."

"Not what I had in mind, no," Luke said, wrinkling his nose. "Can you think of any obvious flaws in our team?"

"Neither of us are very familiar with this world or this time," Peter pointed out.

Luke nodded. "Good point." He bit his lower lip, then admitted. "And I'm not the fastest person you'll ever meet reading English."

"It's not your native language though," Peter replied. "Besides, we have Rory and Willow for that."

Luke looked relieved. "Good point." He smiled. "Guess we just need to be pointed at some bad guys and see what other kinks in our plan need to be worked out."

"Exactly," Peter agreed. "And then work out the problems with the plan on the fly until it succeeds." He offered Luke his hand. "Good plan, partner."

"It'll be fun," Luke replied, shaking Peter's hand.
