"Good morning," said V, folding his hands behind his back as students filed in. "Today is a class to which I have been looking forward for some time. Every crimefighter needs to know, specifically, what tools are at their disposal."

He rounded on the class. "Do any of you have a specific weapon you prefer? Or do you rely on wits, or your own strength? Couple this with the clothing you designed some time back. Do they coordinate? What is the reasoning behind each tool?"

He began to pace. "Furthermore, there are the tools used not in battle, but planning. Books. Maps. Technology, I suppose. What do you use to track a criminal, to succeed in the least amount of time?"

He paused, and quirked his head at the class. "This, dear class, is the lead into your final project, which will be worked upon for the remainder of the term. Please pair up. Don't automatically choose your best friend. This person will be your ally for the rest of the semester. They will be your partner, your backup - your other half, as far as this class is concerned. Today your goal is to take your various tools and resources, and see where you are lacking and where you are overdone. What can each of you bring to the partnership, and where do you need to improve?"

He clasped his hands in front of himself. "Simply form an alliance with another person in class, and bring your thoughts on crime-solving together. All right?"

As if Bridge was going to want to pair up with anyone else. "Teammate!" he says cheerfully, moving over and flopping down in a chair next to Z.

"Teammate!" Z cried happily. "Funny how that works out, isn't it?"

"Such a weird coincidence," Bridge agrees. "So. What do we have?"

"Well, I have this incredibly lame drawing of a Power Rangers uniform, like that's ever going to happen."

"Do you still believe that?" Bridge shakes his head. "They wouldn't have put you on C-Squad if you weren't supposed to be a Ranger," he says seriously.

Z stared at Bridge like maybe she thought he'd lost his mind. "Bridge, you did catch the part where I'm a convicted felon, right? No way they're going to let me be a freaking Power Ranger."

"It's not like there's not precedent," Bridge says. "I mean, there have been *evil* Rangers who turned good before. And you're not evil. So you stole stuff to keep yourself alive. It's not like you were living high off your life of crime or anything," he rolls his eyes.

Z shook her head. "Yeah, but, that guy whose butt I kicked when they tried to bring us in? I don't think he'd be to thrilled about me getting promoted over him. I'm not getting my hopes up. Maybe they'll eventually transfer me so I'm not holding you guys down or something."

"Then I'd be without my favourite teammate," Bridge frowns. "That'd pretty much suck."

"Oh, well, we could still be friends and stuff!" Z said in what she hoped was a reassuring manner.

"Right, well, let's say for the sake of argument that you do become a Power Ranger," Bridge insists.

"Sure," Z said easily. "It'll make this assignment easier, if nothing else."

"All right, so. Uniforms, check. Psychic powers and the ability to create replicates, check." Bridge ticks off on his fingers.

"Energy weapons and robotic assault vehicles, check."

"Weaknesses?" Bridge asks.

Z shrugged. "~~A tendency to fly, flailing, through the air at explosions far away from us?~~ I don't know. What do you think?"

"~~Well, we still need a fifth Ranger...~~ Well, sometimes the Zords cause property damage. Which isn't always good for public relations."

"Okay, so, bad PR, and if the morphers fail you're pretty much screwed a lot of the time, from what I can tell."
