Das Schnitzel was still in charge of the cafeteria but somehow the Chef escaped from the freezer and was now patrolling the cafeteria with "Ginger" and "Mr. Howell" searching for natives. Das Schnitzel was spending the day clucking to herself under her breath.

Call her Skipper and you'll be headed towards a three hour tour of...PAIN!

Today's Menu:

-Spaghetti and Meatballs

-Salad

-Garlic Bread

-Cannoli

Chad was limping slightly as he grabbed a little of everything and found a seat. One of those weird troll things thought it was a good idea to smack him several times in the lower shin-slash-upper ankle area. Chad had kicked it across the room after withstanding about twenty blows. It had just gotten annoying after that.

Pippi flounced into the Caf for lunch.

"Morning Chad!"

Was it still morning? Chad looked around for a clock.

"Mornin', Pippi. What's up?"

Okay, so it was afternoon, but she's just got up from a nap.

"Food!" Pippi said lifting her tray. "Mind if I sit here?"

Chad should have guessed Pippi would answer that. He nodded to an empty seat. "Go for it."

"Thanks!" Pippi sat down and tucked into her lunch.

"So didja get the jail smell outta your shirt?"

Chad nodded with an "Unfortunately" as he shoveled in a mouthful of spaghetti.

"Unfortunately?"

"S'not too bad," Chad said, with the start of a grin. "Havin' it there made me feel....nostalgic."

Pippi thought about that and then slowly grinned back.

"Well... Maybe we can see about that the next time we go off island on a gig."

Chad liked that idea. A lot. Unfortunately, he also had an ounce of sense. "I think Parker'd kill us before we even got a chance."

Pippi has it, she just doesn't use it often enough.

"Awwww."

"Yeah, my thoughts, too," Chad said. "But I do kinda like this whole living thing right now."

"How's that workin out for ya?"

Chad gave her a thumbs-up. "Pretty damn good. No complaints or bouts of not-living, 'less you count sleeping as partly-dead. But I snore, so I'd say not. How 'bout you?"

"I'm pretty good too... Bored though."

Chad nodded, though he didn't sympathize. "Any plans to not be bored?"

"Haven't thought of anything sufficiently exciting actually. Thought we're going to Las Vegas next weekend for class. That should be exciting."

Chad sat up a little with interest. "Which class're you going to Las Vegas for?"

"Prophecy and Humor in Medicine. It's a joint field trip, but I'm in both classes."

Chad wasn't quite sure what Las Vegas has to do with either Prophecy or Humor in Medicine, but who was he to judge? It was pretty cool, even if it was just a poor excuse to take an awesome field trip. "Now I'm jealous."

He paused before looking at her thoughtfully. "Think you can sneak me in your suitcase?"

Pippi looks at him for a moment.

"Yeah, I think you could fit if I left my toothbrush at home."

His shoulders slumped a bit.

"But I wouldn't want you to sacrifice your dental hygene on my account."

"I can always buy one when we get there."

Chad nodded. This was a very valid point. "Well, then," he said with an almost theatrical wave of his spaghetti-laden fork, "Vegas or bust, baby." And took a mutely dratatic bite.

"I wonder if I'll have to take you out of the bag to be x-rayed seperately."

Chad pondered this deeply.

"I dunno. I think it's okay to x-ray it all together, just so long as it all fits easily into an overhead compartment."

Which he, obviously, could....

Pippi shook her head.

"Americans are wierd about what you can or can not take on a plane. I might have to check you."

"I'd be okay with that."

"We could punch some airholes in the bag."

Chad nodded. He hadn't thought about that. "Breathing is good."

"Goes back to that whole 'living' thing."

Chad smiled lightly. "I was thinkin' that exact same thing."

Buffy got herself some spaghetti and meatballs and decided to stop worrying about the chef & crew's sanity when she realized she was worrying about muppets. She found herself a seat and started doodling thoughtfully on her Health notes.

Billy spotted Buffy and headed over. Something had been nagging at his brain for a while.

"Hey, mind if I ask you a question?"

"Hmmm?" Buffy swallowed, then dabbed at her mouth daintily with a napkin. "What?"

"When you were turned into a puppy, how much do you remember?"

"Not a lot, really." Buffy poked her spaghetti thoughtfully. "I remember running a lot and chasing things and that getting scratched behind the ear really is awesome, oh! and Vladdie's not allowed to chew on shoes. But not much in, like, specifics. Why?"

"Because I turned into a Bearded Dragon a few weeks ago, wasn't sure if there was a, uh, typical turning into an animal experience."

"I... don't know. I've only turned into a puppy once." Buffy blinked. "Oh! Were you the little lizard thing?"

"Yes, that was me." he blinked. "Now that I think of it I did meet you then didn't I."
