Science! (Thursday, Period 7)

Ms Frizzle was chatting quietly - for her, anyways - with Jack Harkness to the side of the bus as she waited for all three classes to arrive. When they had, she turned to face them with a broad smile, her blood-cell-patterned skirts swishing around her for a moment before settling. "Good afternoon, students! Everyone ready for our biology field trip?" Without waiting for an answer, she forged ahead. "Class, please welcome Dr. Reid's Biology and Health classes, who will be joining us today! And Jack Harkness, who is going to give us a bit of a hand." She turned to him, her bacteriophage-shaped earrings starting to glow. "Now, just stand there with your mouth open. Everyone else, to the bus!"

The bus, in a move that should be starting to become very familiar to her students, jumped into the air, spun around a few times, and parked for a moment on Jack's tongue. The headlights switched on and the bus trundled forward. "Hang on, children," Ms Frizzle said calmly as they passed the epiglottis and abruptly began travelling directly downwards. "We are now in the esophagus," she announced, "The first stop of the gastrointenstinal tract (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gastrointestinal_tract)." She began pointing out various features and functions as they travelled downwards, eventually reaching the stomach. The bus didn't seem too fazed as it began to resemble more of a submarine. "And here we are in the stomach," Ms Frizzle said, still looking completely unconcerned. She continued to lecture, until she reached the bit about digestion.

"Whoops, I don't think we want our field trip to end quite this way," she said as they were swept into the large intestine. "Time for a change of location." She hit a button on the dashboard and the bus shrank even further, squeezing through a small pore in the wall. Students will notice the diving gear, complete with flippers, that they are all now wearing. "We have now entered the blood stream (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circulatory_system). Everyone out."

Ms Frizzle continued speaking as they swam through the circulatory system and explored the heart, but let the students draw most of their own conclusions.

Ms Frizzle hopped off a speeding bloodcell as it was oxygenated and back onto the bus, which swiftly collected everyone else. "Here we are, class, in the lungs." And thus began the short talk on the respiratory system (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Respiratory_system).

When they had explored the lungs, Liz leaned up and tugged on Ms Frizzle's arm, gesturing for a moment. "Oh no! Looks like we're almost out of time. Alright, children. Hold on. Although usually matter moves downwards through the esophagus and windpipe unless something is wrong, we're going to have to." So up they went. And the bus probably felt pretty ticklish as it made its way up and up until -

"ACHOO!"

Jack sneezed out a full-sized schoolbus full of people.

Blair was back in his extra bouncy seat.

Isabel took a seat and wondered what the hell?

Isabel's thought process has expanded from what the hell? to
What the hell? We're inside Jack? She looked out the window and blinked a lot.

Chad got his seat. Chad sprawled out in said seat comfortably. Chad was pretty happy.

Ms Frizzle flopped by her in a pair of swim flippers and handed her a diving helmet before pointing out the hatch to the slowly swirling blood cells beyond. "Come on! Time to take chances! Make mistakes! Get messy!"

Shawn remembers this deal from the last time, and makes sure to snag himself a window seat.

Teddy remembered his last field trip on this bus and wondered if sitting next to the window was a good idea.

He sat down and nervously edged toward the window.

Molly took her usual seat by the window.

"Make mistakes? But we're inside my friend! Won't that hurt him?" Isabel asked, holding the helmet and flippers, like they were something old and smelly.

This was... actually kind of gross, Molly decided. She really had no desire to see Jack's lunch this way.

Greg flung himself into a seat ~~and signed in for both classes omg~~.

Shawn is gawking out a window, somewhere in the vicinity of grossed out. Being inside someone, both facinating and yet totally disgusting at the same time.

Jamie began to sing 99 bottles of beer on the wall.

Yes you can hit him to try and stop the singing.

But there'd only be more of him.

Singing.

Resistance is futile. Sing a long or perish.

Jamie? Still singing 99 bottles of beer on the wall. He can't be stopped.

"Take one down! Pass it around..."

"72 Bottles of beer on the wall! 72 Bottles of beeeeeeeeeeer!"
