Open Lab (Physics, Biology, Geology)

[ooc: Originally, I'd planned that Open Lab sessions wouldn't necessarily be posted, but this will probably work better.]

If you are having trouble in either physics, biology, or geology, now is the time to come and ask questions.

*Each lab to date is included, with supplementary material.*

[ooc: This is when Angelus would do his makeup test, right?]

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-09-20 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[ooc: hee! I'm too sick for that. So assuming he's done it works for me.]

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2005-09-20 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[ooc: Thanks. It's Fandom High disease, I swear]

*enters the lab looking a little nervous*

uhhh Miss Sidle?
my lab partner went missin, phoebe aint been talkin to me, and I still dont understand nuthin...

[identity profile] jayne-serenity.livejournal.com 2005-09-20 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah...
thanks... *gives her an honest, *almost* charming smile*
*debates for a minute, then gets up to leave*

*a note bounces onto Jayne's books*

"Buying Bagoas for an evening doesn't mean you get to humiliate him after your money's run out. There'd better not be a repeat of this morning. --Solo"

*Han does not rise, but seems intent on his work*

[identity profile] jayne-serenity.livejournal.com 2005-09-20 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
*flies a note back*

my money aint anywhere near to running out...
and I wouldnt recommend fallin for a whore.

[identity profile] 12parseckessel.livejournal.com 2005-09-20 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
*returns note*

Still don't mean you get to embarass him. What he does off campus is work. Here, you treat him like anybody else. You don't hassle Hank over pouring coffee, you don't hassle B. over whoring.

Ain't fallin for him. Just don't like to see big knuckleheads ghetting their jollies by picking on little guys.

[identity profile] jayne-serenity.livejournal.com 2005-09-20 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
watch yerself, SOlo...

I didnt mean to hurt him, just ... makin conversation...

[identity profile] 12parseckessel.livejournal.com 2005-09-20 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Wouldn't hurt you to tell him that.

And to work on your conversation. He's really smart. Maybe he can help you out there too.

[identity profile] jayne-serenity.livejournal.com 2005-09-20 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
*doesnt respond, just gets up and storms out, furious*

[identity profile] 12parseckessel.livejournal.com 2005-09-20 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
*signs in to lab, and works hard at this cell stuff*

[identity profile] whitedeathpod.livejournal.com 2005-09-20 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
*signs in for Physics lab, begins calculations*

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2005-09-20 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
*peers over shoulder* Wormholes, huh?

[identity profile] whitedeathpod.livejournal.com 2005-09-20 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, the things are always in my mind. Shouldn't be theoretically possible for wormholes to even occur but there's a way. I can feel it.

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2005-09-20 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Like time travel. Theoretically impossible, and yet people keep doing it.

[identity profile] whitedeathpod.livejournal.com 2005-09-20 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly. There's a theory I've been messing with for a while, something with a ship and using the Earth's gravity slingshotting. Don't know if it'll open a wormhole up but I can sure as hell try.

Haven't quite got the math down yet. And, of course, I need flight training.

You interested in wormholes?

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2005-09-20 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm interested in theoretical space travel. Wormholes are a big part of that.

And I feel you on the flight training. What happened to the flying club?

[identity profile] whitedeathpod.livejournal.com 2005-09-20 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, you're right. I've studied time travel a bit, the whole "if you change one thing in the past, you'll screw up the future" type thing. Don't know if I could handle accidentally killing a fly and causing some big muck up.

I think flying club fell apart because the organizer went missing. It's still being investigated if I remember correctly.

[identity profile] anextimeagent.livejournal.com 2005-09-20 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, [livejournal.com profile] washwaslaconic is one of the missing.

And time isn't... I mean, I don't think time would be *that* easy to change. You can screw it up royally, yeah, but completely lose a whole civilization because of one action... don't think so.

[identity profile] auroryborealis.livejournal.com 2005-09-20 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Um, Ms. Sidle? I'm not having trouble, but I'd be happy to offer my services as a tutor to anyone who is.

Physics Lab

An anonymous messenger carries in a small note, which is left beside the professor's attendance roster. It reads:

"River Tam is currently in the school clinic, being tended to. She will not be able to attend class today."

The note is signed with an illegible scrawl.

[identity profile] alchemy-4-arson.livejournal.com 2005-09-21 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
Roy walks over to the professor.

"Ms. Sidle, there seems to be an open physics lab but no physics class. Will there be one this week? I was looking forward to it, especially since the mathematics classes appear to be cancelled or something."
