Damn The Man club, Wednesday 5pm

Blair was busy writing on the whiteboard when everyone entered and he absentmindedly pointed towards the donut boxes on one table. "I brought sugar because we're going to be busy tonight."

"Bel's supernatural support group is going to go to the administration and ask for a safe room to be put up here on campus. I'm going to be working on the proposal for that during the club time and anyone who wants to help me write it is more than welcome."

"The rest of you are going to be working on writing up petitions to start taking around tomorrow." Blair stopped. "Uh...well, actually I should probably present the information first and you can decide whether it's something you want to support. I was informed that there are people who want the school to keep the cafeteria opened on the weekends. A lot of the students don't have the money to go out to eat every weekend and some of the cheaper choices aren't always healthy. They want us to circulate a petition to see what the interest and support level is for keeping the cafeteria open."

"So, what do you guys think?"

"They have a place in mind? For the safe room I mean?"

"Not yet." Blair shook his head. "Bel and I were going to go scout some places sometime this week."

"Is this a safe room from angry mobs, supernatural nasties or both?"

"Both, but mostly supernatural things." Blair said.

"Hmm, well it'd need to be easily defensible obviously, and strong." Did Billy sound like he knew what he was talking about? Why yes, he just might. Well except for the supernatural part.

"I'm not thinking we're going to build a fort or anything." Blair said. "We're going to use magic to secure it."

Billy nodded. "Good idea, that should work against everything shouldn't it? Use magic to hide it too?" Yes, Billy had been instructed in the past as to the creation of a panic room/secret lair.

"You know the spell that they use at Caritas? When people fight it transports them out of the building?" Blair nodded. "That's what we're planning on using here. I don't think it hides anything, but then again, I'm not really all that familar with magic."

Billy thought he might see a slight flaw. "What if a bad guy gets in, and attacks someone inside. Would they both get transported outside?"

Blair blinked. "Uh...that's a good question. Maybe we need a place with a very good lock on the door."

He almost suggested 'and a 'no bad guys' sign', but figured that was kinda dorky.

Billy totally would have gone along with the no bad guys sign.

"Like I said, strong, the no violence spell's a good idea, but, remember the story of the three little pigs."

Blair was pretty sure that he was going to spend today perpetually confused. "The three little pigs sanctuary spell didn't work properly?"

Billy snickered slightly. "I don't know if they had a sanctuary spell, but if they did, it wouldn't have done much good when the wolf destroyed their first two, flimsy sanctuarys."

"Maybe if they had a spell it would have transported the wolf to Bermuda when he started huffing and puffing and there would have been no damage." Blair said. "But I get your point. We need to have a place that's safe without the spell."

Billy nodded, then something occured to him. "Wait, you might be onto something there. could the sanctuary spell be cast in a way that any violence against the building itself also transport the attacker away?"

"I really don't know the magic, man." Blair shook his head. "You might check in the library and see what they have on it."

Billy nodded. "Might be worth bringing up to the guys who'll be using it too."

Billy actually started making a mental list of possibilities. Panic buttons, supplies for an extended seige.

Either with Blair or ~~against him~~ on the food petition or on your own thing.

"They might need to hire a weekend chef if they keep it open." Billy said.

~~has fingers crossed for Chef (south park), or Barth (You Can't Do That On Television)~~

"That's a good point." Blair nodded. "Probably something we'll have to bring up with administration later. Do you want to work on the wording of the petition (http://lovechildblair.livejournal.com/29215.html)?"

"I'll see what I can do. I'd appreciate any input."

"I can't actually eat most of the food they serve in the cafeteria." Mac shrugged, and fiddled with the coloured strand of her hair. "But, I'm happy to help petition for everyone else."

"Maybe we can petition them to offer a variety of choices to cover all the bases." Blair said. "Vegan food for you. Lots of meat for Bel. Think you can write that sort of thing in there?"

Mac nodded in confirmation, "I'm sure I can figure out something to add in there. See if we can't get them to broaden the selections offered, at least some of the time."

"Awesome." Blair bounced.

Parker shrugged. "It does make sense, since we're a full-time boarding school, to have the cafeteria open on weekends. I'll help with that."

"How do you word a petition? For some reason I've got, we the undersigned, being of sound mind and body, but that sounds like the preamble of a last will."

"okay let's try, We the undersigned, students...and maybe faculty?...petition the Fandom High Administration to keep the cafeteria open, seven days a week. In order to provide those students with...less...funds?...with an opporunity for...uh...food. Someone help me out here."

Not until he pings in, please.

Up early because I'm about to put the kid down for a nap and sometimes Goodnight Moon puts me to sleep too.
