Lorne is sitting back in the lounge area sipping a refreshing beverage as the students file in. Behind him is a clothes rack with various costumes.

"Hey kittens! The big recital is coming up on Friday. Take your time today to work on your act and try out your costumes. If you need any help your Uncle Lorne is right here to guide you. JD? Peter? See me when you have a moment."

"No rhinestones!" Sam protested, horror-struck at the though of her looking like a countrified disco ball in front of everyone she knew. "It's a guy's song, anyway. Can't I wear a pair of denim overalls, like a farmer?"

"Oh honey. This isn't a drag show. It's a recital," Lorne said completely forgetting a couple of numbers that will be performed this evening. "At least the bonnet will cover your haircut."

"Yes, but it's a guy's song," she argued again with what she thought was perfect logic, "and if I'm going to be in character, shouldn't I be dressed like the character?"

She put her hands on her hips. "And what's wrong with my hair?"

"Sweetie... I hate to break it to you. But you're not a guy," Lorne said in a low voice. "Though it would explain the hair."

"I never believed I was a guy," Sam retorted, and with her history that was really saying something, "and lay off of my hair."

Lorne never really did know when to back down from offering advice.

"Have you considered a conditioner?"

Sam began trying to figure out how to permanently attach Lorne's suit to him. Or maybe how to make him wear khaki and camo.

"You really don't want to go there. Sir."

Lorne patted Sam on the shoulder. "Buck up camper. Your performance is going to be fabulous! You'll thank me for it later."

Sam doubted that sincerely and decided to take action. Now all she had to do was figure out what action to take.
