Monday, October 23, First Period

The classroom doesn't look much different than it did during Parents Weekend, except for the addition of a large tropical fish aquarium against one wall. In it are swimming five very content looking fish. If it doesn't seem to have any significance to the topic of Prophecy, that's because...well, it doesn't. Aziraphale just likes the fish.

"Today we're going to cover several somewhat lesser utilized methods of divination. Specifically, we'll be talking about elemental methods and handful of what you could call the most common of the less common -- including my personal favorite, the reading of tea leaves. There's even a form of divination using specially designed computer programs, although that one is somewhat under dispute."

Pippi flopped down into the chair across from Nadia.

"I got a good one for you if you don't got one and you don't mind doing the participation with me."

"I--no, that'd be good." She gestured for Pippi to have a seat.

"The ghost of my dead Grandfather came to visit for Parents Weekend. He yelled at Pip for not raping me, was generally distraught over the fact that I'm apparently a good student, and got into a pissing contest with Pip's Grandfather over how many people he and I have killed and at what ages."

Nadia blinked. "You've killed people?" She shook her head. "And he yelled at Pip for what?"

"I really try not to." Pippi said. "But..."

She waved her hand.

"It's happened. I don't like to talk about it if that's okay. But yeah... Yelled at Pip for not raping me... Pirate."

Pippi reaching up to grab the man's arms, pulling--

Nadia nodded to let Pippi know that she didn't have to talk about it. "What did Pip say to that? I can't imagine he liked it very much."

"Well, it's Pip, he took it in stride." Pippi said.

"'Have you raped my sondotter?'... 'I wouldn't call it rape.' Aaaaand then the yelling started."

"Wait, so you guys have had sex?" Nadia didn't know that, if it were the case. And if it were . . . there might be some inappropriate to the class room squeeing on Nadia's end.

Not that it was a secret per sae, but that is a blush there behind all those freckles.

Which Nadia, being a super-spy extraordinaire, definitely noticed.

She tried to keep the squeeing to a minimum.

"See! I knew you guys would be good together!"

"I've got no complaints."

"So why do you wish that you could have seen that coming before it happened?" Nadia deftly steered the conversation back on topic.

"Well... I haven't seen him for a really long time. I mean, he's dead. I didn't know he was wandering the sea as a ghost, much less keeping tabs on me and Papa." she said. "I didn't know he was around until he'd been here for quite some time."

"So you would have wanted to know he was still around to talk to?"

Pippi nodded.

"I also would have wanted to have some time to prepare Pip and my teachers for him... And vice versa."

"I can see that. Good thinking."

"Plus I'da like to have spent more time with him. Oh well. I can always hop inna boat and go find him I s'ppose."

"You might miss a lot of classes that way, though. Unless you know exactly where he might be."

"Ptch. He could be anywhere but on dry land." Pippi said. "Oh, that was the other thing. He's not permitted to set foot on dry land except under certain conditions he doesn't quite understand. But when they happen he drips salt water leaving puddles where ever he goes and gets everything he touches sopping wet. I feel I should get something nice for the custodial staff..."

"That might be nice. I'd make a suggestion, but I'm not sure I've ever actually seen any custodial staff around."

"That is a problem I have also encountered."

"Which really makes you wonder how clean the bathrooms are."

"I generally bring cleaning supplies with me in there."

"Yeah, but that's body cleaning stuff. Or are you carrying around Mr. Clean shower spray?"

"Both."
