Good Omens...And Bad: Prophecy in Theory and Practice, Lab Seven

Friday, October 20, Second Period

The room is in the same arrangement as last week, with pairs of comfortable chairs divided by small tables. Except that each table holds several items: a deck of tarot cards, a crystal ball, and an astrology chart.

"Today I'm giving all of you a choice of exercises, but I'd like you to choose one that you haven't had a chance to try yet. If during the cartomancy or chrystallomancy lab, your partner did a reading but you didn't, for instance. Or if you haven't yet had the opportunity to do your homework assignment from Monday's class, you have the option today of doing a chart for your partner. If you've done all three of these exercises already, then I am offering you the opportunity to choose a method of divination and request permission to give it a try. The following, however, are off limits as we will be covering them in future labs: Arithmancy, I Ching, Bibliomancy, Tea Reading, Onomancy, Graphology, and Rune Casting.

"Also, don't forget to turn in the essays assigned to you last week."

Bel turns in an essay of thinly disguised woe.

Marty turns in his homework based off of Joxer's reading last week of a dog chasing his tail with a monkey on his back holding nun-chuks.

While he does mention that he believes the reading is a bunch of "hooey", there is a slight mention about a dog named Budro and a monkey name Gustave.

Which Marty believes to be a total coincidence.

Blair turned in an essay that talked about all of the lab exercises except for dreaming. Because he was still not sure about what happened there.

Sam turned in an essay about the card reading he did with Pippi, if only because it was the most positive experience he'd had in the lab so far.

Nadia turned in an essay about the card readings she did, including the ones from after Phale 'fixed' her deck.

Interestingly enough, the way the spaces between words seem to work out on the page, if you turn it sideways and kinda squint, there's a distinct impression of a symbol that looks kind of like this: <O>

Nadia hasn't noticed.

Pippi turns in an essay about her experience with the cards and Sam. As it worked out rather well.

Dawn turned in her homework, which may have gone off on a tangent at some point, trying to explain how meditating may have looked very much like sleeping with her eyes open, but was really meditating.
