Billy didn't look like he was back to normal just yet, sitting at his desk and leaning rather heavily on it. He waited until the class had assembled, and then looked out at them. "Morning, class. I hope you all enjoyed your unplanned break?" he smiled slightly.

"We aren't doing much today. I'd just like you all to pick what you'll be doing for your midterms; split off as you'd like, but groups can be no more than three, and pick a project out of a book and sign up for it, and start planning out how you're going to do it. If your project requires special materials, let me know and I'll try to get them for you - within reason, of course." Billy smiled again.

There were several books ((ooc: but that link, from what I looked at, is the only site you'll really need)) on the front of his desk for students to look through, and a signup sheet for picking out projects so that no two projects were the same.

"Oh, and by the way," Billy added, "if you do a volcano, I will fail you. Other than that...Conner, if you could be in charge of the signup list and make sure nobody doubles-up on projects?"

((ooc: I'm sorry for the rushed-ness of this; I'm packing madly for leaving early tomorrow morning for YCon. So...unfortunately, Billy's not really askable for anything. Ask TA?))

Make groups, think out loud, etc.

Shawn hides his dissappointment over volcanos being vetoed as a project idea, and checks around to see what prospects there are in the way of groups.

Schrodinger nods to the person he doesn't know very well. "Guten tag. Interested in groups?"

"Definitely," Shawn confirmed. "I'm Shawn," he added. "Don't think we've met properly."

"Schrodinger," Schrodinger said. "Some just call me Schro." He extended his hand in greeting.

Shawn took the extended hand and grinned, the fact he doesn't react to cat ears on someone really proves something about this school. "Well, nice to meet you. You been at this school long?"

"Nah. I'm new. Just enrolled for the new school year."

"I've only been here since the summer," Shawn said. "So, also pretty new." He picked up a book from the table and flipped through it absently. "You got any project preferences, by any chance?"

"Well, do we want to do something in chemistry, physics, or biology? And if we do biology, can we just submit me as a biology experiment?"

"You think we're allowed?" Shawn mused. "Cause that would be pretty cool. What are you exactly anyway?"

"Homo felenius. Cat-human hybrid. Artificial organism. A chimera if you will."

"Oh, well that's different," Shawn said nodding. "Even for Fandom. Makes me seem pretty damn normal."

"Yep. I was made in a labratory. By a scientist. I have no parents at all."

Shawn raised an eyebrow, "Wow. Didn't even know they could do that. Suppose that makes this entire weekend a bit of a pointless exercize for you, or do you have a friend coming or something?"

"Oh, no. The scientist who made me is coming down. He's very excited about it."

"I suppose he's the nearest you have," Shawn said. "My parents aren't coming, they're just sending along a friend of mine instead."

"I suppose. There were other people who might have come, but he was the most available at the time. Busy busy busy. Why couldn't your parents come?"

"My dad's ~~never seen or mentioned in canon~~ out of the country and my mom had to work," he shrugged. "No bad thing, they might freak if they found out about the kinds of things that go on here."

"Mine didn't. My guardians, I mean. I think they knew damn well what went on around here."

"And they sent you anyway?" Shawn chucked. "They must be pretty cool with the weirdness factor."

"They made me," Schrodinger pointed out.

Hikaru flips through the book of ideas, glancing around every once in awhile hoping a partner might appear at some point.

"Hey, Hikaru," Peter said. "Have a partner yet?"

Hikaru shook his head, "Nope." He slid the book over so Peter can take a look too. "I assume we'll group now, huh?" He smirked.

"That works. Getting any ideas for a project?" Peter asked, raising an eyebrow at the homemade hovercraft (http://www.all-science-fair-projects.com/science_fair_projects/89/835/aed978aabe49b8ac1a6197cc407cc6d7.html).

"It'd always be fun to blow something up..." He examined the page Peter had stopped on and also raised an eyebrow.

"Blowing stuff up is fun," Peter said. "But so are hovercrafts. If we wanted to, we could also blow it up afterwards."

Hikaru grinned. "I like the combination."

"Thank you," Peter said. "I take pride in my creativity."

"I like computers."

I won't be here, so...uh...ask Conner? Or each other.

OMG mad prop and costume making the past two weeks @__@ Looking forward to the craziness of YCon, and coming back to Fandom on Monday!
