Criminal Justice [first period, Tuesday 10/17]

"If one wishes to create an image - to become an icon as well as a fighter of crime - one must work at such an endeavor."

V gestured to himself. "Many of you have expressed interest in my attire, my mask especially. It is an image of Guy Fawkes, who attempted to destroy Parliament. I designed my outerwear for practicality as well as style."

He indicated the papers and sketching pencils lying out. "I would like you all to design crime-fighting outfits. Then," V gestured to the stacks of cardboard, lengths of spandex and other fabrics, thread, needles, and safety pins, as well as glitter and other art supplies, "you may design a makeshift version of it to wear today in class."

There are all kinds of ~~reasonably moddable~~ materials out. Have at them.

Bel regarded the materials dubiously. "I don't need a costume," he said.

"A black cloak?" Alanna suggested. "Or whatever color you think brings your eyes out." Yes, there's a smile there.

Bel remembered wearing the cool black cloak in detention. "Okay, maybe I could do something like that," he said. "That'd be cool."

But definitely no helmet.

"There ya go." Alanna paused. "Can I just run to my room and grab my uniform?"

Bel picked up a pinch of glitter and tossed it in Alanna's direction. "Only if you jazz it up."

There is glitter on Alanna. There is an unhappy Alanna under glitter. "I think that would give my over lord a heartattack." She paused. "At age twenty-two. Which he so deserves by the way." She grabbed a pinch of glitter and tossed it back at Bel. "Black could always use a bit more...glitter."

Of course, that meant war. Bel tried in vain to brush the glitter off himself, then scooped at some more and tried to rain it down on Alanna's head.

Sparkly. She was sparkly. Alanna realized she was way too short to fight fairly and wiggled a finger at some glitter and a shower of glitter fell down on Bel.

"Cheater!" a very glittery Bel accused.

A no less glittery Alanna grinned back. "You're like a foot taller than me, I was just evening out the odds." ~~I was in no way thinking of that icon when writing the previous comment.~~

"Not my fault you're so short," Bel said, eyeing the table for something else to possibly toss on Alanna.

Pete looked at the supplies, then looked at his outfit (the same he wore every day) then looked at the supplies.

"I believe I have already accomplished the goal of today's class."

John busts out his costume (http://www.starbase1.com/catalog/15202A.html).

"No one would suspect someone who looked like a mild mannered spaceship captain."

Luke snickered. "Very true."

He tipped the hood of his black cloak (http://www.jedi-academy.com/film/luke_cloak.jpg) up over his eyes. "Am I spooky Jedi enough?"

"Very spooky," John says. "Add some darkness and some eerie music and you'll complete the ensemble."

"Theme songs would be good, too," Luke said, swishing his cloak ~~like a drama queen~~ ~~like Obi-Wan~~ around.

John grins and says, "Something with a lot of drum. Those are always sinister and spooky."

"Do I have to be sinister?" Luke asked.

"Nope." John shrugs and says, "But your music can be. Maybe throw off the bad guys."

"Very smart," Luke said, stomping around and humming to himself.

Dork.

Teddy didn't even bother making the outfit because hey, shape-shifter and all.

Plus his real one was in the back of his closet.

"And now I shall strike fear into the hearts of all those who do wrong!" Teddy exclaimed, striking a heroic pose.

River tried on a brown coat that looked like something Mal would wear. It was a bit too big for her. She added a long red scarf.

Tyler found a shirt in his size and began drawiing the logo on it with fabric markers.

Z found some bright yellow spandex and fashioned herself a cape out of it, because there was no way she could make a bodysuit. Some cardboard, silver paint, and glitter became a morpher, which she hot-glued to a velcro strap.

"Okay so it's kind of lame..."
