Home Economics

Welcome to our first meeting as a combined class, everyone! We will be meeting twice weekly, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and your credit hours will be changed to reflect this. An updated syllabus and roster will be available then. If you signed up for either class, but have not attended by Thursday you will be removed from the list.

To get to know each other, today we will have a discussion. Please share your thoughts with each other on this topic. Remember, participation is graded!

What do you believe makes a social function successful?

Also, it is time to decide which area of Home Ec you would like your first project to cover. 7 areas of possible study are available. However, if you have another idea run it by me and I'll sign-off on it. You have until Thursday to decide.

Thank you all, have a wonderful day!

*Paige smiles* It's sort something I'm doing anyway Ms Van Der Kamp, my new boyfriend lives in town and hasn't really done much to the place so I thought if I made it more live-in able I might get credit towards this course?

*Paige smiles back* Well I already have a few things ready. I was thinking of fusing gothic and eastern styles, it depends on how [livejournal.com profile] geoff_chaucer feels about it really

Considering the question for a short while, Wednesday said, "A social function is successful if it is both enjoyable and memorable."

After perusing the list of available topics, she volunteers, "I should like to choose Food Preservation, Professor."

((OCC: Be it noted that Wednesday is probably going to be extremely, if innocently, ghoulish in this class. My apologies in advance.))

Sakura nodded at Wednesday's comment. "I agree," she said with a faint smile, hoping she wasn't interrupting conversation between Wednesday and Mrs. Van De Kamp. She then took to perusing the choices for project topics. "If possible, Mrs. Van De Kamp, I'd like to select Foods and Nutrition for my project topic."

[Ooc: ♥ Yay for ghoulish Wednesday. That'll make things more fun. ^_^]

What makes a social function successful?

A social function would be considered successful if it is talked about afterwards. If people leave with a good feeling, and want to share the excitement with their riends and co workers.

For my project, I'd like to focus on the home enviornment.

"Mrs. Van De Kamp, I think I'd like to do something with Food & Nutrition since I'm planning to attend medical school."

Allie smiles.

"As for what makes a social function successful, I think it involves a diverse guest list."

I'd like to focus on Food and Nutrition if that's okay.

Also, I think communication plays a very important role in what makes a social function successful.

I am absolutely torn between Home Environment and
Food Preservation. Can I do both, please?
