When the students came into the Danger Room, they found John leaning against the by-now familiar black car, the mainstreet of a small town behind him.

"Good afternoon," John said when they all had arrived. "First an announcement. I won't be having office hours tomorrow as something has come up and I need to go out of town for the weekend. If you have anything you need to discuss, you can see me after class or wait until my office hours next Tuesday.

"As promised last week, behind me is the town of Hume. As the information you were given tells you, recently two teenage girls -- Ashley Taggart age 15 and Valerie Brown age 16 -- died under identical mysterious circumstances. They were found dead in the town's dance studio after having been practicing alone. There was no signs of violence on the bodies, according to the autopsies, their hearts just gave out.

"This is typical of the kind of information a hunt starts with. So let's see what you can make of it. Your assignment is to find out what killed those girls and stop it. You paired off last week so go to it." He smiled at them. "Impress me."

Seely looked around for Sam.

It was one thing to hear that someone had been turned into a puppet. But it was an entirely different thing to actually see the person in puppet form. "Seely? Is that you?"

"Sam," Seely nodded. "Yeah, it's me."

"Wow. Um." Sam looked around the room for a bit, trying not to stare. "Are you going to be able to do the assignment? 'Cause I think my dad might accept...puppetness as an excuse."

"Hey, sweetheart, ready?" Cole said, kissing Phoebe on the cheek.

Phoebe gave him a bright smile. "Ready when you are," she nodded. "How do you want to start this?"

Dean was flipping through his notebook, trying to ignore the butterflies in his stomach, and waited for Hermione.

"Hello," Hermione greets him. "Are you ready to investigate?"

"Ready as I'll ever be," he said with a shrug and a small smile. "So we want to start at the dance studio, right? Check out the barre and the mirrors and stuff first?"

Dawn waited for Peter. She had a thought about what it might be, but they'd have to ask around.

Peter walked over, reading his notes from last week. "Hey Dawn. Do we have it all figured out yet?"

She shook her head, trying to forget Blair-who-was-going-to-get-people-killed out in the hall. "Without talking to anyone? I think it's the mirrors. So we should probably talk to people and find out if they had any new jewelry or anything, because that's just dumb."

"Hey Peter," John said, coming to join him. "How's it look?"

"Afternoon, John," Peter replied with a nod. "Looks good. We decided on a possible object last week, right? So we're looking for something similar both girls have? Or something that one inherited from the other?"
