Flight Club, Monday, 4 pm in the flight shed

Aeryn's been in the flight shed for a while today, and she looks a little more cheerfu when everyone arrives, just for today's material. Well, cheerful for Aeryn. Which means she doesn't look like she's ready to kill you.

"We're going back to something some of us have done before," she tells them. "Today we're working on the Jedi starfighter. Normally built for use with an astromech droid that helps you fly, today the instructor will play that part. They're no longer in use, but as someone who's tried one, that really is unfortunate. I'd like you just to try it out, take it for a run, and those of you who have flown one before, feel free to show the new people how it's done. I'm sure no one will have problems showing off."

Broots grunted. And crashed on trying to get off of the ground again. "What am I doing wrong?"

"There's no that much work to liftoff. They're powered by repulsors, which will lift you off the ground without needing to taxi," she tells him, and shows him the correct sequence. "Just pull up and off you go."

See, some people might be learning the theory. Broots was learning which button to push in what order. "Weee." He totally didn't say.

"Give yourself some altitude," she says, pointing out the controls for that.

Broots flicked the controls and the ship rose with a lurch. He swallowed, hard.

"You're all right," Aeryn assures him. "Just breathe deeply."

Broots breathed in through his nose and tried to keep the ship from crashing. "Right, still motion sick."

"Do you need to take a break?" she asks, because she really does not want him getting sick in there.

She tells him the sequence to land, ready to take over if she needs to.

Broots followed the sequence, but wound up crash landing.

Aeryn winces a little, but nods, patting him light on the shoulder. "That was... good. Better." It was better, actually, in her opinion.

Broots? Didn't really care at this moment about anything but getting solid land under his feet. But he did manage a nod.
