fandomhigh | Detention, The Danger Shop, 10/07/06

Upon entering the danger shop, students were greeted with an ordinary looking room, empty except for an area in one corner that was set up with a table of breakfasty-type foods and some chairs. Once all of the students were on hand, however, the room's appearance changed, until it resembled the countryside of central Europe. Germany perhaps, or Austria.

Aziraphale smiled and nodded at each student, checking off their names from his list, and waited until everyone was assembled before beginning.

"Welcome to detention. Since I've been given to understand that this is meant to be a learning experience as much as it is a punishment, I've arranged a couple of scenarios for you today. This morning, you'll each face an...enemy, of a sort, in a different setting. How you deal with the encounter, how you ultimately defeat your enemy, is entirely up to you. I expect you each to draw upon the strengths and knowledge you possess.

After lunch, you'll be working together to overcome one additional challenge. Are there any questions?"

Blair grabbed some food and took a seat, humming the song his tomato was singing.

No visit to the ~~prisoners~~ students in detention would be complete without stopping to see Blair!

"Okay...so did you earn this one or are you doing a prepaid sort of deal?"

"I won the lottery but Azzy came up with the idea of getting detention served cards and then handing them out when I get in trouble." Blair bounced excitedly. "Isn't that the best idea ever?"

Wilson blinked and fought to urge to facepalm.

"I thought he was supposed to thwart not encourage wiles."

"I'm not sure that he was being encouraging as much as didn't think about it before he said it." Blair grinned. "But you didn't answer my question. What do you think about it?"

Knowing he was good and caught in the question, Wilson pursed his lips thoughtfully, then gave Blair a quick grin.

"I think it's wrong to use a blanket punishment for all levels of infraction and that punishment should suit the infraction so if you turn that around, I think that handing out 'detention cards' would rather negate the impact of the whole situation."

"Nuts." Blair rolled his eyes. "I didn't think it would really fly, but it was worth a try."

Wilson laughed softly and reached out to put a hand on Blair's good shoulder.

"It was a nice try. Did you and River have a good time at the dance last night?"

Blair blushed a little and smiled. "Loads, man. We did a lot of dancing. River looked beautiful."

River appeared, bringing cookies. Not that she expected Blair needed large amounts of comforting, but it seemed like a nice thing to to. She carefully placed the paper bag with the cookies in front of Blair.

"Yay cookies!" Blair grinned. "Do these cookies come with hugs?"

River nodded. "Hugs are included." She promptly gave him one.

Blair hugged her back and snagged one of the cookies. "I think hugging earns you cookie sharing rights."

"How was your morning?"

"I was sleepy," she said, taking a bit of her cookie. "How's detention?"

"Sleepy is good. I bet you do sleepy very cutely." Blair smiled. "Detention... there were singing tomatoes. But I defeated it with my power of...confusing lyrics actually. Which is strange but at least there was no hitting involved."

River didn't even raise an eyebrow at hearing about singing tomatoes. This was Fandom after all. "Good. Hitting is bad. I know."

"I know you know, River." Blair said softly. "Did you see Angel last night? He's supposed to be back in town but I haven't seen him yet. I'd really like you to meet him."

River shook her head. "He's the vampire, right?" The one Bel thinks a lot about.

"Yup, but he's a very nice big brothery type of vampire." Blair bounced.

"So Buffy won't hunt him down?" she asked, half joking. "I'd like to meet your friend, even if he's a vampire."

"I'm pretty sure she won't. Everyone loves Angel." Blair smiled. "I wonder if there'll be some sort of thing tonight where everyone can meet. I don't know if the alumni are allowed in the dorms."

River nodded and took another bite out of the cookie. "If there is let me know."

Blair nodded and ate his cookie and then passed over a cup of tea to River. "Do you want a sandwhich or anything? I'm sure Mr. Aziraphale wouldn't mind."

River took the cup of tea but shook her head at the sandwich offer. "Thank you. I just had breakfast. And Berthold says hello." That sueal could have meant 'say hello to Blair' after all.

"Oh hey, that reminds me." Blair leaned forward. "Does Berthold like getting his picture taken? I'm thinking of making a poster of friendly non-humans for the hunting protest."
