Upon entering the danger shop, students were greeted with an ordinary looking room, empty except for an area in one corner that was set up with a table of breakfasty-type foods and some chairs. Once all of the students were on hand, however, the room's appearance changed, until it resembled the countryside of central Europe. Germany perhaps, or Austria.

Aziraphale smiled and nodded at each student, checking off their names from his list, and waited until everyone was assembled before beginning.

"Welcome to detention. Since I've been given to understand that this is meant to be a learning experience as much as it is a punishment, I've arranged a couple of scenarios for you today. This morning, you'll each face an...enemy, of a sort, in a different setting. How you deal with the encounter, how you ultimately defeat your enemy, is entirely up to you. I expect you each to draw upon the strengths and knowledge you possess.

After lunch, you'll be working together to overcome one additional challenge. Are there any questions?"

"Oh, what the fuck?" Bel muttered, summoning a fireball.

The huge tomato momentarily interrupted its singing with a maniacal laugh, and then began firing the gun in Bel's direction. Bullets sprayed across the courtyard.

She's always late for chapel
But her penitence is real
She's always late for everything!
Except for every meal
I hate to have to say it, but I very firmly feel
Maria's not an asset to the abbey

Bel shimmered behind the tomato and launched the fireball at its back.

The tomato didn't realize the change in Bel's position, so it continued its random rain of bullets until the fireball exploded against its back. Screeching, it began rolling about frantically, the gun still firing, and the tomato still singing.

How do you solve a problem like Maria
How do you catch a cloud and pin it down
How do you find the word that means Maria
A flibbertigibbet
A willow the wisp
A clown

Bel continued to throw fireball after fireball at the thing, intending to immolate it.

Now the tomato was starting to look rather charred and squishy, but it was also mad as hell. Giving up the gun altogether (but not the singing), it spun in a circle and then rolled at great speed directly toward Bel.

Many a thing you know you'd like to tell her
Many a thing she ought to understand
But how do you make her stay and listen to all you say
How do you keep a wave upon the sand
How do you solve a problem like Maria
How do you hold a moonbeam in your hand

Bel shimmered out out of the way again, appearing left of the tomato, and yep, here come more fireballs.

With no Bel to stop its progress, the tomato smacked headlong into the wall, leaving a sort of splattery wet mark on the stone, and wobbled in place for a moment. The fireballs were quickly reducing it to something that resembled a squishy roasted tomato of unusually large size.

It weakly sang once last verse...

When I'm with her I'm confused, out of focus and bemused,
and I never know exactly where I am...
Unpredictable as weather
She is flightly as a feather
She's a darling
She's a demon
She's a lamb...

As the singing died away, the tomato gave a strange sort of shudder, and then burst, showering Bel in slimy tomato guts.

Bel quickly shimmered out of the range of the blast, but some tomato guts got on his jacket. He wiped it off in disgust. "So what the hell was the point of that?" he grumbled.

"Other than serving as an example of why you should try to avoid doing things that earn you detention?" Aziraphale asked, stepping into view as the tomato guts and the cathedral disappeared.

"Think of it as a chance to exercise your skills a bit. And to work off a little steam by fireballing the devil out of an obnoxious singing fruit."

"Whatever," Bel said, shaking his head. But if he imagined the squishy tomato guts as Logan's face, it did make him feel better.
